Ok so alot of questions being asked about what the game is about, what to do when you first get here, weapons and how to get money so I have decided to compile some tips while working on my website to prevent me having to right the same things again and again.
Deposit or Not Deposit that is the question There are generaly two types of people who play PE those who Deposit and those who dont. Depositing involves transferring your real money to use ingame as currency. The advantages of this are that you have an advantage at the start of being able to buy equipment, armour, weapons and various other items. Without having to do the tedious tasks like sweating. The size of your advantage depends on the amount of money you enter and how you then use that currency ingame, buying a powerfull rifle when you are not skilled enough to use it will mean you are wasting money as you are not doing enough damage to use the weapon effiecently, however set of armour will protect you the same ammount no matter now skilled you are. Many people will often play PE for a few months before depositing to get a better understanding of the game. Depositing does not have to be a monthly thing and your account will not be closed if you were to stop depositing money. In this way you can look at it as buying a game when you deposit however much you think the game is worth, then will you have metaphorically bought the game and got PEDs to get you started with. Depositing does not mean to say that you can no longer sweat mobs either you are just getting a head start by being able to hunt without sweating or sweat with armour to help protect you. If you deposit you dont have too spends weeks sweating thats not to say you cant do it just when you deposit you end up with a pocket full of cash and lots of items to buy. Initial items (in my opion) are an axe 1 a fap-5, a jester-d1 and a set of armour. Pixie or goblin(if you can afford it rascal) once equipped start hunting, dont try Pking (Player killing) at this stage you will most likely get hung drawn and quartered, espeicially if you pick on someone in nemesis armour, while wearing a pixie suit :dunce: note. Just my opinion here there may well be better guns out there or armour (if there is let me know and will make changes ) Quote:
Amount to deposit Ok so if you think of it as buying the game how much do you think it is worth paying from a shop?? Ultimatly(sorry my spellings not great) there is no set amount to enter if you are to deposit then howmuch is upto you, how much can you afford and stick to it. PE can become addictive when you out in $40 dollars you have so much money you buy everything. Depositing in stages are a good way of preventing this but again only if you can afford it(you dont have to put anything in if you dont want to) How much is enough to get you started though and what is it ingame that you would like to do?? If for instance you wanted to start hunting a $10 dollar deposit can be enough for a weapon axe1, basic armour (pixie) and a fap-5 of course putting in more ($20-$30) can mean you can extend your arsenal by getting better armour(rascal) a handgun/rifle and alot more ammo and better fap(heal more). PED can also be used to repair items aswell through decay so it is worthwhile to keep some PED available on your ped card. Quote:
Can I make peds thread Tip. PE allows you too take money out of the game as well so if you were to decide to leave PE then you can sell off your posessions and withdraw the money. It is worth noting that Mindark make a small charge to deposit and withdraw money into PE. Not-Depositing involves sweating mobs, finding fruit, dung and oil and trading them or selling them in order to accumalte some currency, this method is very tempting for many people entering PE hoping to get rich but not depositing money in. This get rich quick scheme rarely works as it is very hard to make a fortune in PE without spending a lot of dedicated time and effort into making it work. If however your willing to spend your first couple of weeks sweating and exploring before being able to buy armour and weapons then by all means try it out. Its a more tedious affair and things cant really move on untill you have a weapon, so if you decide to take this route I would reccomend an axe 1, a jester d1. There are many other weapons to use so take a look around but these have generally been accepted as begginer weapons. Currency Project Entropia works with PED (project entropia dollars) and PEC (cents) $10 = 100 PED, 100 PEC = 1 PED sweat prices are roughly around 2pec /pb (per bottle) (roughly) for a calculated price of sweat visit My two Pecs or check in game with various vendors at what ppl are selling/ buying at Scamming Because PE uses a real cash economy you have to be aware of scammers, these are people who will try to aqquire something from you for nominal value. There are many different sort of scams I wont go into them here but you can visit the guides section where you can view my anti-scamming guide along with Sharpshots anti-scam guide. Here A couple of tips for when out get to know the prices first dont sell to the first bidder 2)Items usaually have a value added to their trade terminal (tt) value this can be seen ingame as tt+5 meaning 5 ped ontop of the current tt value, the increase of this value depends on the item being sold. So if your buying check to see your not overpaying and if your selling check your not being underpaid. 3)Do not loan items out, not even if they claim they will repair it or sell it for you, you may be able to trust them but you just dont know so stay safe and keep your items 4)Never give out your password to anyone Mindark staff will never ask for it neither should anyone else protect it. Take it to bed with you and cradle it :p Seriously though people have fallen victim to this scam and have lost their entire belongings. Your first day in PE- Things to do Fun ok so thats the basics out of the way say you want to have fun what is there to do around Eudora, well that often depends on who is at the location and where that location is :), What I mean to say is there are often hotspots of activity in certain places but not always with the right people. (if you understand what I mean) A good past time of mine is trying to climb objects the bigger the better which combines it with oil art (stacking barrels ontop of one another to creat objects) Now mines not as good as many out there Im still a newb oil artist but its good fun trying :smilie here: (i couldnt put anymore in :sad Smily: Sliding around You can try sliding this is to say you click in the distance and lie down instantly if you do it right you will slide along the floor (also how you can climb buildings). Skam can create some incredible pieces from oil barrels as shown here TP Hunting TP hunting can be a good laugh but try to do it woth someone capable of defending you so you can make it further, getting almost to a city only to die and be taken to an outpost can be frustrating and tireing(I dont know how its spelt sorry ) If there is a group of you you get to chat with others and this can be a great way of making friends. List of TP locations in co-ordinates Quote:
Group Hunting Group hunting can be good fun too and I find I have better results when hunting in a team then on my own, Getting Lost Ok so your wandering around and keep bumping into mobs that keep wiping the floor with you. This is one of the most frustrating things in the game when you first start playing, untill you get all the tps this just happens to be something that will get in your way. To overcome it you can either try to go around the mobs (most mobs will not attack unless you get to close the inner radar(most mobs) ) so by going around even if it takes longer will improve your chances of getting closer to the tp/outpost. If you are doing this on your own it is worth getting a copy of a complete map with tps on so you know where to head. The second option is to ask for help or team up with someone/somepeople a team can often take on larger mobs without dying so aslong as the mobs is not too big this can help you get to that next TP location. Dying In project entropia dying will not make you lose any skills or take anything off of you (apart from focus charges or anti toxic shot) you will be taking to the nearest revival console this may not always be an outpost/city with a TP so be aware as it can get frustrating then getting stuck at an outpost (East of Argus outpost is a nightmare). Being hit in PE gives you skills so if you are sweating close to a revival point dont run from mobs attacking you, ask for some focus charges then sweat untill you die or the mob is dry, if you die just run back to the mob again(if in a group the mob should now be attacking someone else) Storage In PE you have your inventory and your storage area, the inventory is what you are carrying, try to keep the number of items below 50 and in the green, carrying more items will slow you down and if you totaly overload and your number of items (found at the bottom of the inventory next to the weight you are carrying) appears red then you will slow to a walk. Storage units appear all over Eudora and Amethra and can be used to store up to 500 items which can be accessed from any other storage unit anywhere. Stackable items only count as one item when stacked together. note. There are no storage units in space Sweating Ok so you have arrived in on calypso and wondering what there is to do, one of the many things people do is sweat mobs this involves clicking on monsters (mobs) with nothing equipped. You will make a little chant dance around a little, once this is charged (a hit from a mob will disrupt the charging) you will be able to click on the mob again and hopefully extract some sweat. If you receive the message 'Sweat aquiring failed' dont panic this will happen quite a lot, If you do succeed then you will get between 1-20 bottles of sweat. This sweat can be sold or exchanged for goods it can also be combined with Enmatter to create Mind Essence (ME) the ammo for implant chips. Sweat bottles as with all items have a real cash value and this often changes. So it can be worth shopping around for a while before selling or buying to find the best prices. Most people now sweat in groups, as you are more likely to get sweat without being attacked and is not to say that it cannot be done on your own infact you would get more sweat overall but would be attacked most definitly. Most people sweating do so at Camp Phoniex, (Co-Ords Here) and is a regular hang out for me. To start of with you should sweat small mobs, Sakum's , Berycleds, Snables, Daikaba, Extrasour and all with young at the end of their name. These do the least amount of damage. Focus chips can also be used to prevent you from losing focus while charging up your sweating powers, this is represented by a bubble around your avatar being hit while focus charged will not prevent injury but you will still be able to sweat the mob. dung and fruit can be found all over eudora and then sold or exchanged. To find fruit or dung you need to be walking it will appear on the floor if you walk to far away from this it will disappear. If you find fruit it may be possible that other fruit is nearby to find it walk due north from your spot for about 5 secs then move left or right and turn around aim to walk in a square area around where you first found the fruit of about 10secs square(ie 5 secs in each direction from the center) note. You will not be able to sweat for ever and the level at which this stop seems to depend on other skills you have(I have heard of someone at 145 and still sweating) others maybe lower there is no determined level but it will eventually stop you from sweating. note. You can not sweat Umbranoids, Robots or mutants(argos, molisks etc) Running To aid with the running you can autorun, and inorder to help you find the TP's grab a copy of the map from Maps page these show you where all the TP's are along with outposts and PVP zones just select the map you want standard one is Eudora on the left along with outposts and PVP zones just select the map you want standard one is Eudora on the left Swimming Swimming is a great way of getting around without taking too much damage mobs will drown in water so it can be be worth going out of your way to take the rivers or coast line to reach that outpost/City TP. note. There are mobs in the water at some locations but these cannot go on land so it can often be handy running/swimming close to the edge to allow for easy entrance/exit to the water. Decay is normally paid for by your hunt if you do it effieciently with begginer weapons, you will be much more sucessfull then hunting larger mobs with weapons you are not skilled for. (I am not to great at the calculations so if someone can provide me with details here I can put it in. Hope this helps regards Rotten ICE Quote:
(Im not sure about the better weapon now! the d1 was when i joined but the opla is new to the tt so could be better for skilling as a newcomer the choice is yours as for where you can get the d1, Im afraid its either the street or the auction the d1 i have seen being sold for tt price so thats not to bad normally tt+0.5-1 (i think) this is at camp phoenix. The armour you can buy in parts or a full kit price is roughly tt+10 for a full pixie (make sure its the right sex parts) Auction can be used to find these parts on there own and cheaper however this can take a long time :) Q)How far can you swim A)To the end of the map then you fall off of this world (the server) Q)How do I take pictures A)Crap clip Save or FRAPS is used by most ppl ingame www.fraps.com http://www.boumchalak.net/content/view/19/40/ Update List *Amount to deposit section added *Dying section added *Getting lost section added *Storage section added *Swimming section added *Moved thread hyberlinks together *Updated deposit section *Sweating section updated (cap) *TP locations added *Couple more questions added to the FAQ FINISH If you want a question answered please post it here and I will do my best to answer it and as always if you feel there is info missing let me know and I will add it. Any threads you feel cover information I have missed let me know The idea is to be able to get a list of links or FAQ's for newcommers so we dont end up with questions being repeated.
