Sweating FAQ's

Is there a sweating FAQ's post? I did not find one. I keep getting conflicting reports from this site and then people who play the game so I have a few questions that I see others asking or others getting wrong..

- Does distance matter when sweating? (as in do you have to be on the MOB's ass or anywhere within range is fine?)

- What does leveling up your profession sweat gatherer or your other sweat skills do for you if anything?

- Is it true that you can work up to sweating about 700 per hour?

- Does the amount of sweat you get per try ever go up or is it the same for everyone (example I can get a max of 22)

Is there any known good sweat buyers out there and where do they normally hang out at?

- Is it true that the more you sweat, the less you will get? (Kind of goes along with another question, sorry)

I guess after I get answers for these I will probably have more questions based on these answers.. Thanks!

1. I think that yes.. if mob goes out of sweating range, you wont get sweats... (i never get sweats when mobs do that )

2. They do nothing... only good thing from sweating is concentration, evade, athletics, psyche, agility aaaand some other skills...

3. Sometimes, yes ... if you hawe alot of focus, and mobs give good ammounts..

4. max is 22.. and it is the same for everyone... sometimes some get more, and sometimes some get less...

5. there are some... go and try to find sum1 at CND

6. No ... if you sweat alone, then everything should be fine..

No, distance and position doesn´t matter (99% sure).

The profession sweat gatherer doesn´t help. I would even say the higher the profession is the less sweat you get but I can be wrong.
The good thing about sweating is that you get defense skills, agility, concentration and some more (even serendipity when unlocked afaik).

Don´t know but could be possible e.g. at Nea´s place with support from other "skillers".

The possible range (don´t know anything about it today) doesn´t differ between noob- or pro-sweater I guess.

I didn´t sell much sweat in my EU life so I don´t really know. I guess PA is still a good place to sell. Sometimes buyers show up at the common sweating places.

See above, I think it´s a common theory but has never been proven afaik. I for myself think it´s true.[/quote]

But you will still have less success. So you need longer to get a specific amount of sweat.

Nonsense.

Your average sweat amounts and success rate will always be the same, whatever you do. Like most things in EU, it varies from hour to hour and from day to day, but you'll average out the same.

The only thing that effects it is time spent NOT sweating - so if you are dying or running a lot, or losing concentration, that's bad. If you have focus charges and sweat in a decent spawn of mobs without dying, you'll do as well as any other sweater.

Appreciate the answers.. I told people that I was getting about 1K every 4-5 hours (sometimes 6 hours) and I was laughed at for thinking this was the norm. They said it was beginners luck and that the sweating would eventually go down. I found posts on the forum that said beginners can generally earn about 200 per hour and they had some who get around 700 per hour. I know none of this was in stone, but I found that I have been getting anywhere from 200-300 per hour so that made sense to me..

I did wonder how many of these people actually sweat alot or if they were just depositors who frowned on sweating. After reading several posts I decided to sweat more as part of my "plan" to try to sustain myself. I deposit for items like upgraded guns, but sweat for armor fixing and some ammo. I have a lot of free time while I work so I just sweat for 4-5 hours a day and staying constant has really done well. At 4,000 sweat collected I finally went up to level 1 on the sweat gatherer profession. At 6,000 collected sweat I am half-way to lev. 2. I know it does not matter, but I have been watching it just the same. My sweat level is at around 147 the last time I checked.. Anyhow I will continue to sweat and report any of my findings as I do.. Its really not that bad..

I'm just saying that you're wrong mate, no need to be offended

A number of tests have been done that show that the amount is a random distribution between 2 and 22, for everyone, and that the success rate is the same for everyone (20% iirc?).
