People will continue to join the game regardless of sweat prices. They wouldn't know the difference if they never played before. What is far more likely to drive people away is all the complaints about how it is impossible to become uber anymore and how MA has ruined everything by changing this or that. Giving people the feeling that they joined the game a few years to late will make them decide that it isn't worth playing. Paying them .6 instead of 1.0 for sweat won't make them quit, because they have never known anything different. |

When I joined I didn't make a big fuss about the price of sweat, and imo, there was generally a lot less fuss about it back then. One of the things that appealled at the beginning was the way the other participants behaved. Due to the fact the game required real money to play, the player-base is a lot older than your average game. Whilst younger players who may not be able to easily deposit cash are welcome, they are expected to act with a certain amount of maturity too. There is no conspiracy to drive sweat prices downwards. There is just an awful lot of sweat around and as such the price is bound to drop. All the activities that sweat can be used for cost the user money. Consequently, people doing those things will attempt to get as low as price as they can for it, in order to reduce the cost of those things. That doesn't mean these older players aren't welcoming newcomers to the game. But we're not a charity either, many players have depositted significant amounts of money that they've earned in real-life jobs. Do you really expect them just to hand it over to you just because you're new? |

Well mindessence is a market, when there comes more and more new players who gather sweat, the price will drop, the mindessence refiner will be happy and the mindforcer, too. When the sweatprice reaches a price level wich is most new player not worth to spend time in sweating, the price for sweat will raise again...and maybe than the forum will be filled with threads like "the sweatprice is to high, we have to lower it" :P^^
I am curious of what may happen, to be honest. |
