what exactly is a "mob"?

Ok, I know this is like major splitting hairs, but....it's driving me nuts so....does it refer to ONE creature or to a HERD of creatures? ("run until there's a mob on your radar"....is that one animal or many??) So, is it the meaning of the word "mob" in English, ie "I was attacked by a mob" (a whole bunch of folk/animals).

Or does it stand for something... M.O.B. ?

MOB is Mouving Object , mean smething that mouve in the game , oposed to the things that does not mouve " tree , flower , NPC...."

so a mob or 1 mob , is 1 animal...
