How do I get my pet to level up?

I have a Dakiba Stalker. Level 1 is maxed. Trust at 5000/5000. Health at 58.8/58.8. Energy at 1065. I thought I read some where in the forum that the pet automatically levels up? Please let me know before I end up brushing the thing to death

Hello gray,
this seems to be a misunderstanding: pets do not automatically level up.

You have to use the "greet" or the "impress" command on your pet. This means:
go to a stable, take your pet out of your stable, feed it a ton of nutrio bars and select it (it gets green corners on your screen).
now open the action book (X or Z), click on "Pet" on the bottom of the book and then click a lot of times on "greet" or "impress". You need to wait about 9 seconds before you can click again.

The more trust your pet has, the faster it skills up. As it has full trust, every 3-10 clicks it should give you a message "Your pet gained experience". If your pet reaches level 3, it is "maxed", this means: no matter how often you click, your pet will not gain more experience.

Difference between "greet" and "impress":
Each greet command costs you 1 nutrio bar.
Each impress costs you more, I don't know, how much it costs after the last VUs and I am working offsite, so I can't check right now.

And yes that helped very much. I just leveled up my pet from 1 to 2. Here's what it cost me - to the best of my noob knowledge:

1200 nutrio bars for the whole level
2/3 new brush decayed

as for the Greet - I counted 22 Greets per bar pressing Greet every six seconds. So if there are ten bars (?) then that would have been 220 greets.

Now on to the next level!

Does impress give more player skill than greet? cause if my test was correct, it showed me that impress is twice as expensive...

I was kinda serious...

If it does not make any difference, why should we use impress? If someone knows a way to test this and allow us to give results that are trustworthy.

hmmmm i might test it when i can get back on..but i'd need a pet w/ a high enough level to do impress...but what does it matter just sit there clicking a hot key for greet while you do something else RL
