So I decided to try out Taming as it's always been fun in other games. The desire to control a raging beast comes natural after dealing with a pregnant wife for two years. haha
In reading through some guides there are tiny details left out that I thought may help. The first mob you can tame is a Snablesnot Female Young. These can be found West of Camp Phoenix. Now, I started with a Brush, A Whip (found only on Auction under Melee Weapons), the two items combined will run you approx 250+ PEDS depending on the item. I also bought 1,200 Nutrio Bars that cost me 30 PED. As you can see, this isn't cheap. Now, I started to attempt my first tame, smacking the Snot with my whip until the red bar on top filled up. Once that was full the Snot took more dmg to Spirit and Health. The first couple times I tried to tame the creature it killed me. If you run back to the mob, heal up and continue as your progress from before isn't completely undone. Once you get the mob to a certain level, it may run away. Use this time to heal yourself if possible. Once the spirit is gone (second bar from the top) and get the health to near death, then you can attempt to tame the creature. You will probably fail a couple of times in a row but on my 5th or 6th attempt I tamed it!!!! It was actually very exciting to tame my first creature! Now, if you fail the taming, the mob won't attack you and begin regenerating spirit and health. Heal yourself and wait for the health of the creature to equal or slightly surpass the Spirit bar. This way you dont kill the creature before the spirit bar is low enough to tame it. If the creature is attacking you while you are trying to get it's Spirit low, and it's almost dead, you won't be able to attempt the taming. So, walk backwords while letting it's health heal up a bit equal to spirit and start whacking it again. After a while of this, you will tame the creature. Once tamed, feed the creature all the way. (if you plan to skill from it), this costs about 1,000 Nurtio Bars (ouch) then pull out your brush and fill up it's blue bar all the way. It will take a few minutes. Once all of this is done, relax and begin clicking the Greet button until level 2, then you can cycle Greet with Impress until level 3. Thats it! Once the creature is level 3, you can order it to follow you and rename it! I hope the little details in here help spell things out a bit for folks like me who had to mess around a while to figure it all out. It took me about 2 and a half hours or so, maybe 3 to tame the creature fresh and skill less and get her to level 3. Once the blue bar is full, you can begin |

Nice posting, though I personally think the "bigger" tutorials are a little easier to understand for beginners. But as people use to learn and read different, there will be for sure people who will learn better from your posting than from others.
So here's my +rep for you! |

Nice post. Snabble young were harder for me to tame because they were too easy to kill accidently. The first mob I tamed was an exaro young. unless things changed you should be able to do an exaro young to start as well. I did not kill them as easy as I did the snabble young and was able to learn whip control better.
Here is a another trick. When the health bar is lower than the spirt bar and the mob is attacking you, you can run until it is just out of radar. It will stop at that point, you can run back and wait for some health to regenerate without being attacked. Saves on your fap. Also what helped me a lot when learning. Drag the health bar of the mob, once you drag it on the right is a little white arrow (it only shows on tamable mobs) click it and a drop down opens that shows the health, spirit and trust. It was easier for me to use this to determine when to attempt than the bar above the mob. Good luck, it is a fun hobby. edit: Also check out the shops in the malls there are a couple of them that have all kinds of whips, brushes, etc. |

Exactly. Forget the brush and a huge pile of Nutrios.
Tame the mob, release it immediately which causes it to vanish, move on to the next mob, rinse and repeat. ![]() Using the whip as much as you can will build up all sorts of useful skills that add to the Animal Tamer profession as well your melee combat skills (this will help toughen you up ready for when you can attempt to tame a Daikiba Stalker ), and to a lesser extent Pet Handler. Plus for each mob you tame, you have the chance at gaining some loot just as if you had killed it. If you tame one you want to keep, feed it a single Nutrio Bar, move until it is no longer showing on your radar, and then it will auto stable in 10 minutes. Until you have sufficiently high enough skills you will have to wait until it auto stables before taming another mob. ![]() |
