i am not tamer , so maybe i havent understand well , so corect me if i am wrong but from my understanding it work that way to tame :
1) you beat the mobs until it next to dead 2) you give him som nutrio bar and he become your friend 3) more nutrio bar take care to him .. 4) then you tell him to go to hell 5) you kill him normal way 6) its no loot because tamed. So , because you almost killed the mobs 2 time it does not give any loot ? is that right , or i miss something ? |

AFAIK i've never gotten Animal Taming skills while whipping, only when attempting to tame (and as mentioned not all that frequently). Whip and affiliated melee skills are all i get while doing the actual whipping.
Etopia, the way it works is you whip the mob down to very little health and very little spirit (which takes more whipping than little health, which is why you have to wait for it to regenerate some). Then you attempt to tame it. At that point you will fail at taming or succeed. If you succeed it will tell you "This mob carried no loot"...always. It should actually give you loot if the mob carried loot, but it doesn't anymore. You only give it nutrios if you want to keep it. It won't move or be stabled unless it has been fed. |

So it is just me ...ah ha. I always knew they were out to get me ...it wasn't paranoia Donald - the higher your skills the 'higher maturity' the mob is that you can tame. So Snable Young can be tamed almost immediately - as you develop your skills you will be able to tame Snables up to Stalker and then Exar Youngs ...etc up to Daiki Stalkers (like Kira). So you don't have the skill yet to tame a Diaki Provider -sorry! If you want to tame a big Diaki go out with Kira - both whip it and then let Kira tame it - ensure that Kira hits it more than you - the person that hits it the most will be the one that will be allowed to tame it. |

Yes good news indeed. It does however seem that they have tweaked the spirit ratio again, as i (sheepishly indeed) must admit that a snable male young killed me while waiting for it to regen to almost full health for the third time so i could get the spirit low enough to tame it. It seemed to be a regular occurrence (the huge amount of regen needed to get spirit down), so i think that has been tweaked anyway.
Edit: This change seems to mainly make male snable youngs a huge pain to tame, while not affecting other maturities i've tried. I'd recommend just staying away from the male youngs, or killing them outright. Last edited by Doer; 07-05-2006 at 14:38.. |
