If experiance and trust are 0 the only cost is energy. If the energy level is 1, the pet will autostable and lose only that 1 energy. If the energy level is 0, you will lose the pet.

The nutrio consumption rate is calculated after subtracting the first 100energy off of what a pets energy currently is, and dividing that by one day MORE than the pet's "fed until" date. (remember pets eat double the last day) Using that information, I came up with numbers for the pets I had handy. (see below) I think it would be useful to fill the rest of this list out.

Bumping this very informative thread. Do you know if the part in large type is still accurate? I thought my pets lost more than 50 energy when autostabled, but i don't carry a scanner and therefore don't usually know their exact energy while training them.

Also, you mention that pets eat 2x as much the first day, and then say that they eat double the last day. Are these referring to one and the same phenomenon, and is that the final day of their energy reserve in the stable before they starve or the first day after they are tamed?

This thread oughta be sticky -- it's hard to find information on pet costs. Plus, someday--someday--we'll need to add how much hogglo stalkers eat in a day to the list...

As of yesterday, 5/26, the highlighted statement was still true. I autostabled a Stalker with 210 nutrios, and he showed in my inventory with 159. I assume the 1 additional nutrio was "normal" consumption.

What has changed since the last VU (9.3) is that a pet will no longer autostable with only 1 nutrio. I have not experimented with the limits, but my pets with 10 nutrios are disappearing, while my pets with 210 nutrios are autostabling.

To the best of my knowlege, when a pet has only one day supply of energy, it appears to consume energy at twice the normal rate. (whether you think of this as the "first" day, or "last" day of nutrios. Sorry if my explaination was confusing.

exa stalker autostabled with 220 nutrios just to be on the safe side

The info about how much energy to stable gave me an idea, so I tested Snable Female Dom with 51 nutrio-- she autostabled fine.

I'll keep reducing the amounts to see what the new minimum is.
