only read the first page so maybe this has been said already but why not get Partition magic and get a new partition with XP or 2K?

I was using vista 0.5years without problems. There was some, but next day they fixed lol

I have exact same setup it sounds like. Vista with quadcore and ATI Radeon card. Smokes! No problems with PE at all. Only issue is startup window still say 'not compatible' in red, even though program runs wonderfully never any problems, other than disconnects, and I know noone else is having that problem. HAHA!

or simply do not install it to your system partition.
People would have a lot less fuzz if they started using different partitions for different kind of stuff. Cluttering everything in one place only slows down everything.
Never had to tweak anything in Vista to male something work and I have been using it the last 15 months.

Yeah good idea il go get myself 1 more partaticion and squiize it into my laptop thrue my CD rom?:P

I hope you do know that you can have several partitions on one drive

yes but whats the point i have split up my drives.. but i almoust always put mu programs on my main drive... well i used to have a desktop, where i had 2 drives one a fast one with 20G and a slower one for storage 200G, but every single person has told me to keep my programs/games what ever on the faster drive lol

Edit: also everyone who has had problems with vista on my page has found help with starting the game from cdddl.exe file..

The point is, that on the system partition it can be quite some pain to defrag it. Also Vista has a tighter security there, thats why most have to start it with admin rights.
A dedicated partition only for apps and games keeps the system one tidy and is easier to defrag. No risk that some apps accidently install them where they are not needed anyway.

And you way of startng the game is a cumbersome workaround and only works if someone really installed it in that specific location. Also only works for the english version of Vista.
