My laptop has a 64 bit dual core CPU, but a 32 bit Vista. So do a few other Vista laptops I had to fiddle with to fix some issues.

Both XP and Vista come in both 32 and 64 bit variants.

Although most hardware now is 64bit capable (especially the CPU), hardly anyone uses 64 bit Windows / software now (probably lack of drivers / software availability).

Seriously, i had to deal with Vista at Work... it works more or less,
but i still prefer good old XP/32bit at Home.
Upgrading to Vista is a Waste of Money.
Downgrading to XP can be hard, but saves a lot of Time and Trouble.

ah ok, well then i have to say your wrong. Vista is made for both 32 and 64 and comes in both versions, so the test as it doesnt say what version is used in the test should be 32bit on both xp and vista.

SP1 for Vista 64 and 32 bit is available. Though windows update will check all your installed drivers. If any of those drivers are known to have issues, then SP1 will not be made available. If you have Vista, and cannot see SP1 update in the update center, then chance are you have an old audio driver that is not compatible with the update. So update your audio driver and recheck.

I have Vista 32 on my laptop and 64 on my desktop. Both run EU very well. Initially my laptop had issues, but after a motherboard replacement, I have not had one crash.

Pass... If I wanted to slow down my comp to half its speed.... sure install vista... LOL Even if you had the latest in hardware, it still takes up massive amounts of system resources for its eye candy.... Bloated!!!!??? LOL Theres talk about abandoning vista altogether... and sales are still no-where near that of XP's when it first came out.. although the choices at that time where upgrade to XP or stay with 98!! lol Oh well I guess I'll wait to see what the new sp1 and further updates bring to the table before I make the final jump!!

people always complain about new operating systems. i can remember it was the way when xp and windows 2000 came out (not to mention Windows ME lol).
i have to say vista is a very good operating system. even the amazing xp had some problems when it was first released

im pretty sure that in 6ish years people will talk about how good vista is and that they dont want to install the new crap os

Of course people complain, 6 years is about the time it takes MS to get bugs out of an OS so it will run stable.
