Vist Connection Issue

anyone having connection problems? I've only managed to stay online for about 8-10 mins at a time on Vista. However, when I use a Winxp version it runs perfectly. I've done everything everyone else has suggested, but I cannot seem to stay online for a longer period of time.

I've already put in a support case and their reply was that they do not support Vista and to ask EU community... so her I am asking.. Help?

PC system:

2.7ghz Intel Core DUo
Vista 32bit Business
4gb RAM
250gb Drive@7200RPM
Nvidia 8800GTS 320mb Video Card
1000/100 Ethernet
3mb DSL connection (2.8mb DL/722kb up)
Zone Firewall(Entropia has all access)

Goto your router status, disconnect, reconnect, try to log in again.

Its not my router or my internet connection. I've tested it with another computer with winxp and EU works fine.

open run command, type cmd, then type DEL Vista*.* should solve any problem known or unknown in Vista.

walk to XP compy log in as normal.

I don't know if this is still an issue, but I know that sometimes in Vista, the tcpip6 protocol can cause issues with tcpip4 protocol - try unchecking ip6 in your network connection, reboot, and see if you notice a difference

also, ofc, try setting your connection speed in the client loader down to 56k and see if that makes a difference (although you may have tried that already)

another thing to try is to completely uninstall and/or disable the software firewall you have, regardless of eu having full access through it (no, im not advocating running w/out a personal firewall - i AM advocating finding out wtf is going on, though )

what works fine with one pc will not always work fine with another pc (as illogical as that may seem) ... give it a shot, won't cost you but a few seconds

Might not be a bad idea as I paid 89 dollars have not had one problem with this os that I did not intentionally cause trying to find out how stable it is..

I am also not buying software in chunks that I have to ask for advise how to make it work on a videogame forum because the people that wrote it cant even make it work.

What is it with people now days being happy they bought the newest thing on the market that doesnt work and praising it because its new? No matter how much you polish a turd..ITS STILL A TURD!!!!

in my defense, you saw my pm to you that i was only giving you trouble

that being said, while i don't praise Vista, I also don't knock it, because:

1) it is the most initially-stable GUI OS released by MS to-date
2) it is the most initially-secure GUI OS released by MS to-date
3) i require no assistance getting it to work with anything, on several machines in several environments using it for several unrelated tasks

ofc i stil have XP boxes available for my use ... but the majority of bad-mouthing of Vista is due to hearsay comments and people parroting what they hear others say ... then, the minute something doesn't work correctly (which is inherent to all MS-based pc's, not just Vista), the OS is blamed and people want to switch back ... just my 2 pecs

If you have all the updates for Vista and the right hardware, you shouldn't have any problems. My hardware is much like yours (I only spent about $550 when I upgraded to Vista to ensure it was good stuff).

My Vista box has been stable for months (only rebooted once due to a power outage in 4+ Months). I use it to do all sorts of crap, including EU, virtual machines for multiple development environments, web browsing (to some places that are not exactly safe, either), and I stress it at 100% (2 Cores) with BOINC -- 24/7. It also has a business intelligence server, licensing servelets, and office API development stuff.

I know not all Vista machines have a great reputation, but I have *NEVER* been able to throw this much crap at any machine before. It took me less than an hour to make OS/2 Warp cry for help (way, way, back), but Vista ROCKS when you have the right hardware and configuration!

Good Luck figuring it out -- I would visit dslreports.com and see if perhaps you have excessive packet loss (or other network/bandwidth issues).

Oh, and I've found that with my 6 MBit cable connection, setting the EU bandwidth parameters to ~ 1 MBit was better than shooting too high, performance-wise.

the only issues as said before ,, is EU not shutting down on logoff ,, have to open task manager 90% of the time ,, otherwise ,, ive had no probs with the vista/EU combo ,, just my 2 pecs
