last time i checked alienware laptop it really sucked (2week ago)
max screen 15-16" ? their builtup is made to run in native 2000 x 1000(approx) resolution on a 15" inch... did u ever tried that? lol thats pain... unless what they mean is highest resolution they can achieve EDIT : alienware just got a 17screen offer, and from the dell website u can see that there even promoting alienware(they own them). so i would basically look for a great deal on dell instead, it really depend... alienware is losing the race currently "in my book" cause all they do anyway is buy a basic hardware kit from company then slap a new box into it and charge u more. well just make it yourself and ull save plenty money. Also, back on topic... if u want a solution with support and staff(something u wont have if u buy a similar priced clone)... There the Dell XPSTM M1730 17" HD Widescreen Laptop from who seem to be ahead of is time with a PHYSX chip included on their hardware and supporting 2x SLI videocards up to 1024 memory for the gfx!? . but the 17" screen bugs me indeed(not bad but iwant a 19"+) else there the clone solution, nothing bad except if it broke u gonna figure all urself. ![]() Last edited by dotc0m; 07-09-2008 at 07:09. |

I own an Alienware Aurora mAlx. 1.5 years old now.
that is 19" with 2 SLI graphics cards. The laptop is superb though a bit heavy at almost 11kg with the power supply included. I live during the week a lot in hotels so i wanted a good gaming rig. My main problem is my HSPDA phone provider giving me some connection problems lately. Cheers Siam |

sad they phased it out?? 19" screen on laptop is a must to me and should be for any gamer, i dont mind the weight, battery life and such... screen/videocard/sli would be the only thing that matter before considering a laptop when it come to gaming. caus everything else is basic stuff u need but most offer (4g memory, raid or turbo cached hd, u know stuffs like that) |
