How hot is your GPU running tho..
Sometimes card manufacturers overclock their cards more then the weak fans they put on them can handle. So when people who live in warm climates are using them, they slowly degrade over time. Or it's just getting to hot and causing artifacts and reboots. Have you tried "DOWNclocking" your card? Use ATI Tool and try downclocking your card about 15mhz on the memory and core clock. Then play and see if you have anymore issues. |

But just as a note on the THG article .. did you see that the PCI-E card was UNDERclocked? that does make a fair bit of difference. I consider anything under 40 FPS to be unplayable for myself but then again that is just me :p Oh and one more thing ... look at the crysis benchmarks for the new card. not sure how you feel abou tit.. you'll be able to see what is going on but at only ~20-25 FPS it may be a too choppy to really enjoy VU10 ![]() Anyway .. like Silver Ice said .. would like to know how and if the new card fixes the issue of the reboots. |

![]() Yeah I had noticed the PCI-E was underclocked, the thing is, I will be doing a comparison test before and after for other AGP motherboard owners like myself. It may make an expensive upgrade for Cryengine 2 to a more modest one, if you can get away with just a Graphic Card change instead of Mobo,Ram,CPU & Graphic Card. Koister - the 9800pro is at stock, I never overclock anything so hopefully itll soon be fixed. ![]() Latest update: I have swapped the 400w Zalman PSU out for my spare 431 Enermax PSU. Graphic card is coming out in 24 hours anyway, and the graphic corruption shown only happens occasionally. fingers crossed! |

Incidentally, for those who know about voltages (I'm not too clued up on them TBH)
Old PSU / New PSU Core 0 1.62 / 1.60 Core 1 2.72 / 2.72 +3.3 3.33 /3.38 +5.0 5.03 / 5.08 +12.0 11.80 /12.16 -12.0 12.03 /-12.19 -5.00 4.99 / -5.39 From looking at the figures, the new PSU appears to provide a stronger output? I've left it running Prime 95... http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm Link provided for anyone else who wants to check their PC is working 100%. It's really easy, just install then click on Options/ Torture test and you are away. |

The screenshot you have shows something similar to what my dieing 7900 GT (graphics card) used to show previously.
I used to see white dots in my bios screen / windows desktop as well. As of a couple of weeks ago, am happily using a Power Color 4870 (ATI) card now. Nice speed boost in all my games. |

Since it is partial corruption, and it has restarts, I would say it is not your graphicscard, but the harddisk that is not doing too well, so I'd check that with the program from the manufacturer
