Can't see anything

When i first log in all is fine, except i can't see my avatar. he appears completely black. so i just went >randomize char< and pressed accept, when i entered the world all i saw was my hud and a couple black lines and a soft creamy pink color everywhere. Im running in vista with Mobile Intel R 965 express chipset for my graphics.

Sometimes I have a similar issue. I get a few seconds where things look "normal" then my screen flips out and I can see a small part of my hotkeys, no chat window and I see black, grey and tan where things are suppose to be...

Seems a quick reboot solves my issues...

Your video card doesn't support the shader system

SM2.0 gives you textures
SM3.0 gives you bump mapping.

I stand corrected, I just searched for that chip set and apparently, the 965 chipset has the GMA X3000 video processor which is SM3..

ive been trying to use 3d analyzer but i keep getting a popup message when i click run, that says that it cant copy a certain file to the mindark folder. help?

that's your problem, unfortunately - some mobile chipsets squeak by, some do what yours is doing, and some don't work at all, from what i've read around here - one or more of these threads may or may not help you - im not expert, so apologies right off the bat

So can anyone give more info about this... does the R965 chipset work or not?

the above links does not mentions if that specific chipset was put to work and its been old topics...

None of the intel graphics card work, because they do not have any pixel or vertex shaders due to a deal with microsoft. Instead of having it in hardware, they gave a piece of software that emulates this to Microsoft which is used. 3d analyzer 2.26 may work, otherwise buy a better graphics card/computer

As AoD just mentionned, those card seem to have the shader... so it should work... isnt? or those are not shader?

i am about to download the latest driver for this chipset and intel say it support up to shader 4.0

will keep u informed.

I can confirm.

My sister just installed the latest X3100 driver for the Mobile Intel R 965 express chipset and ...

Entropia work flawlessly on is computer since this chipset support up to shader 4.0.

Its even rumored to run crysis "just enuff" on lowest 800x600.

for a 700$ laptop shes very happy with it.
