Did I discover a pattern??

Hello,

As I am usally playing in the evenings I have recently been noticing constant disconnections from server. It started to bother me about a week ago so I have taken a closer look at this matter. What I found out is rather interesting and can bring up many speculations.

So every day many ppl I know and myself suffer from a short unexpected d/c from server as I found out at EXACTLY 20:45 MA Time.
And I wonder what could this be related to? Is this some sort of way that the loot server resets itself or some bug or something deeper? All I know that it happens to some of my friends that I have asked and many ppl arround.

Question is how many of fellow Entropians have those disconnections at exactly 20:45 MA Time.

Please check your location and time when you will receive a unexpected d/c at that time if it was at exactly 20:45 MA Time and post your results here.

I am curious what this could be and what this is related to.
I will post my findings here as well so we can build up a nice research group.

What internet provider are you at and are your friends at the same?

Many internet providers make a disconnect of the clients every 24 hours and give them new IP addresses.

Its unusual that an internet provider will do this at a defined time,
as my provider for example does it every 24 hours counted from the start of the connection.
(With that my router can control that it happens at a time I define myself)

Maybe it's the cleaner in the DC plugging in his vacuum cleaner like clock work.......

Nope... I have a still connection and friends have many different providers. That's why it cought my attanetion and why I wonder why this could be.

Let's try to avoid unnecesary comments as I am trying to find out if more ppl have that at Exactly 20:45 MA Time and if it is related to something.

If you really want to post anything in this thread try to see if it happens to you as well and post your results, if not than just don't come back to this thread.

The hamsters taking a bath and shave for the next day, I think some of the lazy ones might be switching night shifts with others (less players at night- less work for hamsters?!), taking a nap or w/e...

Seriously..., It might be some switch or temp. servers powering up and so on... who knows..lol, maybe support would answer It, If they drink enough truth nectar when you send the q.

You have a static IP?

I know that one provider was disconnecting static addresses anyway along with the dynamic ones, which of course is a bad thing to do.

My suggestion is to check your router protocols to see if the complete internet connection was closed and then reopened.

I'll double check on my router but I'm pretty sure it's not that. I'll keep you posted with my findings.

If you can please check if you d/c too at that time.

I'll take note of the time tonight if it happens.

Also noteworthy is that it doesn't seem to be a problem with isp's or links in between, since you're really logged out from EU when in happens - I can get back in the game in 10 seconds, no 'Avatar is already logged in' message...

And when there are internet connection disruptions, it doesn't cause a d/c - you just can't do stuff all of a sudden...

There are moments with loot lag at precise time. One identified for sure is at 6:00 MA time. Or something like that... My watch shows 9:04 all the time when it happens and the time on my watch is not precise, so I expect to be a round number. I am sure it happens at many other different times of the day, but knowing that will not make any difference. It changes nothing. Why would you think something like that is relevant in any way?
