FYI: (How To) Accelerate DL of VU10.3 from MA Using Segmented Downloading

There's a variety of programs which will allow you to connect to a server multiple times and download a single file through multiple connections, I'm using GetRight.

Once you have downloaded and installed GetRight, use it to start downloading VU10.3 from:

http://dlmirror.entropiauniverse.com...5944_setup.exe

or

http://www.entropiaforum.com/downloa...verse_vu10.rar

Once the download begins, from the download window click on Options -> Accelerated (Segmented) Downloading -> 4 - Four

This will open 4 connections to the MA download server and download a segment of the entire file from each connection then put it all together as one.

My connection speed just using the CL or the MA torrent app was only around 60-80kbs, with segmented downloading I'm at 250-400kbs.

This method is technically a "direct download" as it's coming straight from entropiauniverse.com, it's just not using the traditional method of client loader or MA's torrent.

There's also a Newsgroups Download Available

and an FTP:

Unfortunately MA did not published any MD5SUM for the file so I cannot verify if it was downloaded corectly, I just used lftp with 4 segments to get it from MA's site. I've put the file there for some friends that trust me, I certainly don't recommend anyonene to download software from unsactioned sites.

I've completed downloading the file and during installation I received an error that there was some problem with decompression.

I think it may have to do with the fact that my PC went on standby from inactivity at one point during download.

Going to download again through both Dante's Torrent and GetRight (2 seperate downloads).

Got my own update via the clent loader but also downloaded Dante's torrent to help out with seeding so should be both those.
But I voted client loader as thats where I got my own from

MA|FPC should just make a better bittorrent seed of their own...

Also, got to ask why all these "alternative" urls are allowed to remain? Guess 711's stance must have changed since August (either that or he's too busy participating in the new vu, lol)?
