Logged in today, after update, into PA-s TP-plaza. Everything was ok there, business as usual, even lag was bit smaller than usual. Then TP-d off to swamp-camp (N of PA) and what i saw there was really unusual - all the people were just dead, the vast field full of fallen avatars, not revived. I did'nt count them could be some 50. They had been there for a long time, i figured, because the only ones standing were near the turret. Obviously they all went offline and just stood there until wandering mobs killed them. Seriously unearthly experience, this silence, few motionless avatars standing and a sea of white glowing "grave-candles" of the dead avatars all around me as far as i could see.. Tried to TP off of that graveyard.. well ofc my spell didnt work anymore.
Now i realized that this server has serious issues and it's probably good idea to get the hell out of that area before i'm stuck there too. And so i ran. Daikibas who smelled me passing by came after me, as i was wearing only some parts of pixie i got wounded - not seriously, just a bit. Saw 3-4 red dots few feets behind me, following. Grabbed instinctively for a weapon.. well, no use - "item is busy and could not.. bla-bla". Then i went 3rd person, still running ("cant die here, cant die here.." hammering in my head), to see who's coming after me.. well, i didn't see anyone! Nobody was following me. Interesting.. went 1st person again, stopped, and took a good look around. Yes, there i was, standing alone in the forest bit north from the swamp camp, and as far as i could see there was not a single soul nor any mobs around me. And then something invisible hit me. There was no sound from the attacker, just my avatars cry of pain, but my gut-feeling told me it's a daikiba. That little f"#¤er, just a daikiba and i have no weapon, cant put even my armor on! I started to like all this! What to do in that situation? Dying is NOT an option, i must handle this somehow. Maybe i just try to hit him with my bare hands? No, not a good idea to experiment with that right now, must escape this cursed region first, i decided. And so i ran again, got hit few more times as i was running (i'm quite n00b yet and my speed is still relatively slow). Then i saw a lonely hunter standing motionlessly on hill and got an idea!  Yes, ofc, you quessed it - a simple maneuver - i just ran around him.. and a sec later heard his cries of pain behind me as my invisible stalker turned on him and left me alone. So it was a mob, not some uber-invisibility-bug-exploiting-avatar!And then i made a BIG mistake. At that time i was at the next outpost and figured it must be another server's area already, so i just logged out.. and never got back in since then. Well, that part is familiar to you, no fun in that at all: everything just stops at "authorizing".. Althou, i know for sure that this thing is'nt in any way computer-related, because on another computer (with completely different hardware) it behaves just the same. So it could be 2 things: something with our account/avatar and/or the buggy segment-server we were in when we logged off. Also, i'm pretty sure all our avatars are still in there - standing or already dead. Last edited by boax; 11-08-2007 at 19:49. |
