Well after finishing Crysis today, with my computer, who cannot show full grafics in EU even, i have been worried about when they release the new grafic engein with crysis grafic, it could run crysis engein without any problems, a bit slow loading between the maps, and at the very very start of a new place due to the heavy ammount of things that needed to be loaded.
Im useing a RADEON x850 series 256 MB grafic card, 3.6 ghz and 1024 ddr-ram.. Think thats most of what affects it, but to get back to why i made this post for those who wonder; IF you have a computer like this or close to, running the crysis grafics when they impant them into the game Wont be a problem at all. ![]() And i just have to say it, crysis has a way to short campain. tok me 5 hours to compelt it on hard. |

Well I know my system works with the Crytek engine as I've just finished Crysis as well. Slightly dissapointed at the ending though, similar to the way HL2 EP2 ends.
My system: E6850 dualcore 3Ghz 2Gb ddr2 ATI HD2900XT and 4x 500Gb raid 1 array but it stuggled in places, I was running full screen 1680x 1050, graphics settings to high, with 2x anti aliasing but turned it off half way through but I think its more like the amount the memory it needs to run as some of the worst lagging happened during the cut scenes. I was also having to use a hotfix copy of the ATI drivers with the 7.11 release I was getting nothing on screen at all except for the odd texture now and then. The vehicles also handle much better than they did in Farcry, you can take bends at high speed now. The forest levels showed off some good capabilities that will make areas of Entropia really stand out but I have a feeling the armor and clothes are going to need updating again. MA should implement a local copy of the map and textures rather than downloading on demand (last update they started using a local cache) otherwise EU will lag even more than the first note event when it comes online. I thought they where using their new engine. If it won't on my system as is, I'm out, and I'm sure they will loose others if they don't keep the min specs down. A lot of online games out there are missing out on a large seg of customer base because they only focus on the latest eye candy without providing a client for people with more common systems and who can't afford to buy the latest bleeding edge crap.

Mine works just fine ... my Crysis game was delivered on Friday and I took it for a test drive ... completely awesome. My brother got his on Thursday and he's ahead of me in the single player game. Zar (rwin) will be getting his and hosting a server for us to all play together in the multiplayer option, so looking forward to that as well. I'm hoping that MA will be implementing a lot of the features, because it would definitely kick EU into high gear for sure. Let's hope it all works out for us.
![]() Forgot to mention ... I had to sign into EU to calm down after my test run. Much different play for me since I haven't been a hard core gamer like most, so lots of intense adrenaline going on, but I loved it.Oh, and btw ... I haven't had to make any adjustments so far, so everything looks and runs quite smoothly up to where I'm at! ![]() *** |

Tried the demo on mine the other day...
In the end managed to put everything on high at 1024x768 save for shaders and shadows which I kept on low. I'm borrowing a friends geforce 6600 at the moment which is below required spec. (mine is porely and away being replaced at the moment) With those settings it looks like impressive graphics but not realistic. I think being able to turn those things on makes a big difference to this but hard to say without being able to do it yet.... Computer is a core2duo 2.13 with 1gb ram. Incidentally what did people think? I have to say I did all the wrong things eg trying to swim out to the ships rather than head inland and then spent far to long throwing boxes and barrels around... and later bits of shot up trees haha when I got to the bit with the jammer I just sat there watching the birds for ages with the binoculars before I even realised I was meant to be looking at the Koreans!I think it will be interesting for game play if MA create similar amounts of foliage when they convert. Interesting cause it means that not only can enemys (mobs?) not see you but you can't seem them either! Should certainly make for some very interesting hunting! Obviously people would complain of course when they can't see atrox sneaking up on them in dense jungle but thats fair doos. They can just go hunt some place where its more open (but with potentially worse loot). Personally would LOVE to see MA implementing that kind of game dynamic. In short changing rewards of kills depending on how difficult the location was. Actually they probably wouldn't need to change anything. The extra ammo inevitably wasted in tough areas would naturally feed into the loot pool and provide for bigger rewards. Sounds like a fun to me ![]() Wistrel PS did anyone else spot the "chirpies" ![]() |
