Hi, I'm at long last looking to get online again, through T-Mobile's "Moblie broadband" device, a little mobile modem I can connect in the Motorhome.
Before I take the plunge, this thing has a maximum speed of 1.8 mbps. I know this isn't great, but it's the best I can get. So, with this as a maximum connection speed, am I going to be able to play EU? Hurrikane |

The problem with a mobile broadband connection is that the speed can drop off unexpectedly at random times if some other object interferes with the signal. 1.8 Mbps should be more than enough to run Entropia, but don't be surprised if you hit some major lag spikes now and then.
Also, remember to play around with the connection speed settings in the client loader. It seems strange to say this, but you often get a better connection by saying your connection speed is lower than it is in reality. |

Speed isn't all the issue - you'll need low stable roundtrip time (ping) too.

In PE i liked shooting mobs and dropping mines ... cycling the PED (shoot, loot, buy ammo, repeat) till all was spend on decay. That was fun. In EU way to many PED are lost on the first run or taxed away on armor change ... which is discouraging to put in any more. Because this is no longer funny. |

Yes you can use it. I myself use the same 1.8Mbps 3G connection, and everything is quite fine, except couple of times a day at peak hours the connection drops down to some 0.2Mbps, and sometimes i loose 3G network, and have to use crappy GPRS

Its risky as its connection speed is determined by alot of factors.
For instance with normal wireless it doesnt matter if you connection is low, high or whatever speed of the internet will stay the same(atleast that is what my Pc doctor says, not sure if i believe it) with these thingies you connection is directly related to your speed. connection goes down speed goes down alot. You can try it, but i wouldnt get your hopes up, and it can and probably will be VERY frustrating at times. About 9 months ago i got one in India(not the same as you might get though) but that sucked and wouldnt allow me anything more then checking my mail, EF and opening sites slowly. |
