Vista and Entropian Universe

I am have problem with client crashing when i die and sometimes crashing at random. I have read other old threads about this saying to disable sound, I do this and it works fine. Is there any other fix, I updated all of my drivers and stuff, I really like the sound. Can't buy a new computer with XP now so I think MA needs to get on the ball and get this thing working good on vista. Here are my system specs if that will help.

Vista 32 bit
Athlon X2 6000+
8800 GTS 640MB
4GB DDR2 666Mhz

There is no other fix, because to put it bluntly, vista does not meet entropia minimum system requirements, you are lucky to get it running at all. Maybe in a future version.

It works perfectly for me.

I run it as administrator and have turned down the ingame music to zero.
Under properties-compability I have selected Windows XP.

I have no problems with the ingame sound/music turned on. Only have problems with my box hanging if i try to play a movie on the other screen while EU is logged in.

Ever heard of the search function? Because when I found this problem all I did was type in 'vista crash' or soemthing similar and BANG there was the solution.

Turn the music off.

he wonders if there is some OTHER way than turn down music since he like it.

anyhow, OT; Im running on vista, never had anyproblems with it, my music ingame is always tuned down since i rly hate it...

I also run EU on vista, only way i managed to sort the situation was to turn of the ingame music to zero, hopefully MA will havve a soultion sooner than later.

Turning off the music was the only thing that worked for me.

Vista handles drivers (and the sound files) in a stupid way, so I suspect that some drivers work, and some don't.

Anyone actually put in a support case? I'd be curious to find out if MA have a quick fix.

Thank you for your report. Our goal is to start supporting Vista once we consider it a finished product. When a new operative system is released, it is always advisable to wait for the first service pack, which will hopefully increase the quality of the product. Unfortunately Microsoft has decided to postpone the release of service pack one and many users are already using Vista. We are aware of this and therefore we also do give advice and tips about how get around the current difficulties connected to Vista (even if we yet do not test our product with this operative system).

As for your suggestion: We cannot give you an ETA, but we believe that we will start supporting Vista as from the beginning of next year.

Ya'll dont have to turn of the sound at all... I wrote this in another thread as late as yesterday. I have the sound on and no problem.
