Login issue

I have been playing EU for several months now i have a 1024MB RAM card. Recently my brother has downloaded EU and made an avatar he has a 512MB RAM card but when he tries to login he cant cause on the login screen it says he has 504MB of RAM. why is the full 512 not reconized? and is anyone else playing on 512MB of RAM?

It is possible for a computer to reserve some space in certain areas of the memory-map for other devices (they often use this space for transferring data) and it is possible that the memory that would normally be at this area can not be used because of that and also it is possible when you have a videocard that is onboard that it is using memory to store the picture in and such. The difference is not that great though, and it shouldn't be a reason why EU doesn't run.
If I were you, I'd check the minimum system requirements at Entropia Universe, at the bottom below the language-choices, then minimum system requirements to make sure his computer at least exceeds those.

Depending on the type of card, and how old it is etc.

1) Try updating drivers
2) Set all graphics setting to lowest values, and restart
3) Check that the vid card is 'actually' 512MB, and not virtual 512MB (eg more not 128). Maybe that it is a lower MB card that borrows.
4) Decent RAM?

thanks for the replies guys. I looked at the system requirments and the computer fits everything exept for the RAM. My brother will probly end up getting a new RAM card but ill look into the suggestions you made. Thanks again. more suggestions welcome
