Help: Scanner not showing items anymore?

I was pretty sure this has been there for a few VU's, I thought it happened at the same time that you couldn't see amps on other peoples weapons anymore.

I could be wrong though.

Afraid you are wrong on this point, the scanner showed the held item until the last VU. Amps weren't shown at that time, but it was easy enough to work out what amp was fitted by comparing the blue and orange damage stats.
