I've been away a while and have never used these.... what do they do, how much do they do it, and is it worth the decay cost?

Lastly, is there is a significant different between the basic, med, high, and professional types?

Welcome back Ghandi!

Mining amps boosts your findings to a bigger size, but they cost alot to buy and use.

I have around 3k prosp and 2.5k geo and can profit with amps when mining in areas that has some rare ores due to markup.
I use oa103 and 104, and find everything from average-large. You can find some poor claims but not to often, skills seems to matter when using amps. Dont use a really big amp with a low skill level, using amps is gambling.

Using amps on CND is a really big gamble, a 103 amp only lasts for 54 bombs. So if you only find one claim Sizable-Significant it might be a loss.

Whats your skill level and what finder do you use Ghandi?

Amps are ok if you can get them for a low markup. Everything over 20% not acceptable for me, I stick with 101 for ores and 102 for enmatter, usually getting 101 for 106% max and 102 for 113% max.

I hit my best finds unamped.

I would recommend getting some 101 amps, at most 102 amps.

Well when you find 60ped gold on two 104 oreamps, the markup for the gold pays for the amps and bombs and everything else you find is a profit. But i would never mine in places where there is no rare ores to be found, with a 104amp.

My biggest claims have been found with a oa103
