Apologies if something similar has been posted before - I used search but didn't find what I was looking for.
Clearly this is a fairly noobish question, but I wanted to ask it anyway: what is the difference between a FAP and a Vivo? Originally I was recommended to get a FAP as my first item because it would apparently help with sweat-collecting as well as medical things. Is this really the case? I was later (in-game) recommended to buy a Vivo 1 as soon as I had the 9 PED, which I did. It's surely serving me well, but there has been no change to my abysmally poor sweat-collecting, so I'm starting to wonder if a FAP would have served me better after-all? Should I make this my next purchase, and how exactly does it help sweating? Thanks ~uther |

Minimum heal with a T1 is 7.7 for 0.9pec a heal.
Minimum heal with a Fap5 is (about 2.0) for 1 pec a heal. This is based on a new player with very low paramedic skills. It wont affect your sweat collecting directly but will save you a lot of money in regaining your health. For this reason I suggest you skill up with the Vivo T1. I hope this helps ![]() |

A FAP or Vivo will not help you in any way whatsoever when sweat collecting. It will just drain your funds a bit as you pay to heal. If you are sweating at popular places such as Neas or Swamp Camp, there are usually MF skillers that will heal you for free, as long as you are nice and polite. If you prefer to sweat in more isolated locations, you can use tactics such as sweat-and-run or sweat-and-kill to avoid dying, while healing naturally.
I only started using a FAP when my Rifle skill was about 2k, and still try to avoid it where possible to cut down on costs. As soon as the new Vivos came out I quickly switched to using them instead of the FAPs since they have way better eco, especially at my low Paramedic level. As a side note, Anatomy is one of the big contributers to the Paramedic prof., and you get lots of it while hunting. So if you delay using a Vivo/FAP for a while, you will be able to use them more efficiently later. Hope this helps, |

You can think of Vivo and FAP as being two brands of the same thing. We tend to use the name FAP for all healing kits, even though, if you were going to be absolutely accurate about it, the word FAP only refers to the old-style looted kits. It's a bit like Hoover or Rizla
![]() You will also find EMT and Hedoc 'FAPs'. This chart gives an overview of the various stats: http://www.entropedia.info/Chart.aspx?chart=FAP But as other have mentioned, your skills come in to play too. For now I would agree that the Vivo T1 is your best option until you have maxed it. |

Exactly the kind of information I was looking for - thank you, everyone.
As it is, I already went for the Vivo and I'm quite enjoying seeing skill increases other than the norm for sweating, so although I still use the kind healers at popular sweat locations, in most situations I prefer to heal myself. Also, my Vivo doesn't charge me anything to heal other than the item condition - I was told that it would charge me about 1PEC each time - is this the FAP they were talking about? |
