The mid level gap...

I am using my thrusted MKII since I personally looted it during COT.
I have (had) many different weapons.
I used to hunt with MKII, Strikehammer and ML35 during the older days when there where no sib's around.
Now I sold my high end gear some year ago and still have my MkII and use a ML35 a friend lend to me.

Now the problem:
My skills are mid level
Blp sniper and laser sniper at 47 or something like that.
Blp and laser dmg is around 45.
Using ML35 and MKII does not bring any skill progress. I rarely see a green line in my chat window. It doesnt matter if I hunt high end or low lvl mobs.

So I would like to take advantage in using a SIB gun for the skill increase bonus.
But wtf should I use at my level?
(and no, its not in the nice graphic someone has made about this)
Its my understanding there actually are some guns who could aid me at my level but they are:
*rare
*very very expensive on markup.

So it seems I hit a gap in the sib market.

Anyone any idea what gun to use?

Everyone between Level 20 and level 80 is waiting for these things to become playable with. Workable MU and workable availability.

sadly there is no good SIB weapons (at least rifles) available for pro level 40 and beyond. seeing quite some variety in hg section I only can come to one conclusion - MA does not like range very much...

on the other hand, after SIB weapon is maxed it hardly gives any green lines. so the only option is using regular weapons. I'm out with tuned stark 117 and believe me or not, the chat is still quite green around 60 pro levels. maybe it's because it's 15 ped/min turnover, maybe not but it's the only way for me to gain skills. also, the gains definately depend on the mob. I mean, if I shoot feffs (whichever maturity) or ambus, the gain is MUCH lower than shooting something more dangerous, SEGs for instance. this should mean, that the enemy must be chosen accordingly to the pro level and weapon. and the agression level of a mob plays a VERY high role.

I noticed a slight improvement in skill gain hunting high ends with the MKII, like hunting big atrox or atrax.
But it still doesnt compare to the progress you can get with a suitable sib gun.
Either MA has some "agenda" to demotivate mid level players or there are guns avialble but crafters dont produce them.

yes, mid level players are not welcome - they get too close to the pie...

crafters wouldn't mind crafting M45 or better if there were enough blueprints and resources around. at the moment the click to make stays quite risky for them I suppose...

It's quite possible you hit the nail on the head there.
I guess that MA made skill progress easy for low levels to get them hooked easily.
But they had to slow players down somewhere on the line to avoid a game full of ubersplayers.
So those who got to uberness before MA implemented this brilliant plan are very much in luck and those who got to midlevel just have to suffer the fact that they get no where from there in a acceptable timeframe.

Besides its very very annoying that new players get easily to mid level in no time these days and I had to work my ass of for that level during the old days.
I only regret I took a looong vacation of PE some years ago.. Otherwise I would have gotten past that midlevel gap easily.

As someone said before "There is no gun for skilling above Korss 400" and i agree ... anything above korss is too expensive over 200% markup and that makes them very uneconomic and the skill gain is not that great. Actually sometimes i gain more skills with maxed guns than with sib ones.

Regarding your skills, i would go for MKV ...
Quite correct eco on that and it will give you skills probably more than MK2 do!

Of course price is a bit high ... or maybe consider MK4 which is less expensive!
