chipped out a year ago & started from scratch a month ago. Have followed forum users advice on SIB weapons & have just hit 2200 Rifle & just maxed the Breer M4a L.
I have chewed through at least a dozen M3a's & countless M2 & M1's & it aint cheap!!! My question is: Has anyone crunched the eco/decay numbers on using these L weapons Vs Unlimited factoring in the extra skills obtained from L vs Unlimited? With the ammo burn on the M4 nearly double that of the M3 & without a hell of a lot more damage, i can see the peds draining away already. Not having done the numbers myself (i will if someone hasn't got there b4 me) i am trusting the general consensus that my current course is the least expensive one. For example if the decay of an unlimited weapon is significantly less than these expensive throw aways then the extra skill gain has to be pretty damn good for it to make any sense. It may well be cheaper or similar cost wise to just chip the skills up & be done with it. Anyone answers supported by hard data would be appreciated. Any specualtion, opinions or wild guesses, although appreciated is not useful in the slightest ![]() |

I bought my new computer system when I go tired of trying to get proficient on a wormhole chip..
People were insane on buying MF skills at the time, when I chipped them it was with 2 full ESI's (about 4000-something psychotropy) an the both sold for around 11,000 ped. Don't think I will be chipping much this time..I'm just here to waste money in the new 'pay for play - make MA Rich" Entropia Universe. No use wishing for the 'Good Olde Days' of PE... they are dead but not forgotten ..Mores the pity.. --- |

Why didnt you yourself make some number-sheets so others could check what investments they where up against?? Im pretty sure it would become tough for MA to justify if someone publiced hard facts about the cost to run EU on daily basis as "free" Mmorpg. I didn't do much with numbers..but I have done some research that made me sell my 9 and 15 burn guns and go back to doing noob critters with a low cost pop gun.
I took the 100-200 PED per run cost of ammo (hunting Guardian Trox and other big game) and the amount of loot it gave me (never got a HOF or a global above 60ped) and found that I could BUY the same amount AND KIND of loot from AUCTION for less than I was spending on ammo. Go figure..Kinda says something dosen't it --- |

I did some test on that issue but not enough to give a final answer and i will not post halftested results just an idea
Maxed L weapons give roughly same skills as nonL (at about the same lvl) but as you will not have maxed the nonL you miss and do lower damage so instead of paying markup on decay you pay markup on ammo (missed shots, lower dmg) - in general it's safe to say L will be cheaper on lower pro levels If someone tested this in more detail, i just did a few 10k runs, feel free to correct ![]() |

I have already deposited 5K in the month i have been back(still have plenty) but am wondering if i should have just chipped myself up to where i was when i left? I have no idea what skills prices have done in the last year..up or down? I did chip my evade up from 500 to 2000 yesterday for 530 peds. I thought that was money well spent as it would take me forever to get there normally & now i can get into some ghost or gremlin without hideous decay bills. At the moment i'm in Shogun with 2A's, which is gr8 for what it is & the difference in the damage i'm taking after the evade chip is substantially lower! |

The ammo burn of a gun and the number of peds used as capital should be directly proportional. Somewhere along the lines of 100 peds for each ammo burn.
Aside from that, if you talk about L, like 2 guns already bought as starters. If you use amps, reserve to repair corresponding to ammo capital. So for sake of example: 2x m4a(L)= 2x175x130% = 455 ammo = 7 x 100 = 700 A104 = 40 + 150 = 190 On 7 ammo burns, A104 lasts 150 ped ammo I think, so say 5 repairs, 5x40= 200 So to be a bit safe on M4a(L) usage, I'd say ~1500-1600 peds as starting capital. That doesn't include fap & armour decay. Also a very important condition is to use only maxmimized (L) wep, in the SIB period them are ped eaters (i.e. to have 10/10 and dmg interval maxed). If you keep same runing capital and just upgrade weapons, you'll ultimately end broke because of the decay, which is always payed in advance. |

The M3 has a way lower markup, which makes it more eco. Also, its dmg/pec is better than that of the M4. So if eco is your thing, stick with the M3. If you wanna progress to bigger mobs (and perhaps gain more skills that way), use the M4. With an A102, it's still quite eco at 130% markup, way WAY more so than with any non-SIB gun. |

[quote=dbelinfante;1260498]Actually the M4 does about double the damage of the M3 (with an A102 attached). I'd say that's quite an increase.
I notice the second damage interval stats are much higher for the M4(not the first interval) but in the short test run i did it didn't even seem to be hitting as many 20's as the M3(yes im maxed). Crit hits were about 15 more damage. My initial impression was that it was doing marginally more damage for nearly twice the price. I don't profess to understand completley how the damage cycle/interval works, this was just my initial impression on a short 20 ped test run. If it does nearly double the damage in the interval listed second & all things being equal, it would be doing nearly twice the damage but for only 50% of the entire cycle, as the first interval stats are pretty much same. Therefore, assuming my logic isn't based on a complete misunderstanding of how the system works(which is very possible) the M4 wouldn't be doing nearly twice the damage as the M3 but it would be costing nearly twice the price...... ![]() |
