CB5 eco = 3.96 dmg/pec
CB5+BT10 eco = 4.00 dmg/pec CB5 @ 150% markup, eco = 2.64 dmg/pec CB5 @ 150% + BT10 @ 120% = 2.77 dmg/pec* So yes, it's more economical to amp the CB5 and you get higher dmg/sec as well. But not by much. *all figures from entropedia. |

i just did a quick check with entropiatools.com and it shows exactly the opposite result: it is more eco to use cb5 unamped, due to the tac10 markup. CB5@150%: 2.72 dmg/pec CB5@150% + Tac10@120%: 2.65 dmg/pec |

The CB5 is NOT eco ...
![]() 1st line : CB5 @ 100% 2nd line : CB5 @ 100% / BT10 @ 121.22% 3rd line : CB5 @ 156.62% / BT10 @ 121.22% 4th line : CB5 @ 156.62% The point is , the eco is always less than 4 and far less even with BT10 at TT price ... Let's hope u'll get CB5 and BT10 at TT price , ur eco will be 4.005 ================================================== Opalo is exactly the same as the CB5 (exept the markup and fast rate of fire for the CB5) ===> CB5 : 6.4dmg/sec Opalo : 5.867 Now , add the A101 to Opalo ... ![]() I am hardly BLP addicted ! But , for a beginner (noob ...) , the best choice is Opalo + A101 (more eco and faster dmg/sec than CB5 + BT10 !!) PS: Thanx to Entropedia.info and entropiatools.com |

Philosophically, the choice between an opalo and cb5 is not about the eco of that weapon, but the selection of the weapon type early on.
My own opinion (which matters little), is that EVERYONE should have an opalo, and everyone that chooses the long term BLP benefit should also skill up with a CB5. As for the amps, the heavy cost of the A101 makes it prohibitive for the novice hunter. Even if it pays for itself in eco in the long run, it's a heavy price to pay for someone just starting out. the CB-5 + Tac 10 should then be compared to the Opalo alone because of opportunity cost, and then it's pretty much a 50/50 split when you factor in the long term goals. In the beginning MA created PE, and it was good. Then MA nerfed our skills and we played harder to achieve our successes. Then MA said "let there be EU" and we played under a new name. And so MA nerfed our weapons and we were displeased but loyal. Now, when MA massively nerfs everything and tells us to put our weapons and skill aside, to go forth and color and texturize our clothes, are we to do so dispite it being an abomination to what was ONCE good?!? |

I always thought the reason MA introduced amps was because the amp increased your decay (IE their profit). To make this increase in decay attractive, a gun+amp was more eco than a gun alone.
This meant that rather than buy a bigger gun when you wanted to increase your damage, it was more economical to buy an amp. MA liked this, as the amp gave more profit, and the player liked it as they got the higher damage at a lower cost. The BLP amp mentioned seems to go against this theory. Why would I want to use one if it lowers my eco? If I want to do more damage, I should just buy a bigger gun. Seems MA got their sums wrong with the Bull tac10. |

dmg/(cost per shot x markup) = effective eco (cost to the PED card) CB5: 8 dmg/(2.02 x 1.5) = 8/3.03 = 2.64 and BT10: 2 dmg/(0.48 x 1.2) = 2/0.576 = 3.47 CB5+BT10: 10 dmg/3.606 = 2.77 ================================================== === EDIT! Aaargh! I've just realised what a stupid nooby mistake I made, I included the ammo cost in the calculation! ![]() Start again: CB5: 8 dmg/2 + (0.02 x 1.5) = 8/2.03 = 3.94 BT10: 2 dmg/(0.48 x 1.2) = 2/0.576 = 3.47 No need to go any further - the amp is less eco that the gun and therefore can only decrease the efficiency. Apologies to anyone I misled with my mistake. Last edited by Redfrog; 04-02-2008 at 21:29. |

the correct way would be to use only the decay at 150%, but not the ammo burn (which has no markup, obviously). |
