When is amp too powerful for weapon?

When is amp too powerful for weapon to be used at its full potential?

I tried to use a beast with a genuine design clone and got the yellow message. I'm wondering if it's very uneco to use because of that. According to entropiatools the design clone is still more eco with beast than without, but does that take into account the "not to it's full potential part"? (i can't really figure that out from the numbers)

Well.. in some guns over-amping does raise the eco on it.. If the weapon's eco is pretty low or lower than what the amp's eco is, voilá you've got better eco..

On the GDC-97 you only lose .5 dmg (from the top of my head) added by the beast amp so it hardly has impact on the eco but it's very irritating you get that message everytime! I have hunted with GDC-97 and it's doesn't have impact on the loot I can tell you

When the amps dmg potential is more than 50% of the weapons.

You mean minimum damage of weapons, right?

unless you are 100 hit + dmg, using any amp on GDC is uneco, or any nonmaxed weapon for that matter, so the argument that you lose 1dmg that makes it uneco is pretty obsolete

Not true at all. Using a good amp like the Beast on an unmaxed weapon makes a bigger improvement in economy than it would when using it on the same weapon when maxed.

If you have low hit/dmg professions then the GDC won't give you great economy on it's own, but putting a Beast on it will make it better.

It's still better to use maxed L weapons, in general, however, unless you have 70+ hit/damage professions.

I'd say the improvement is exactly the same in %, and more on maxed guns in absolute terms. (As long as amp eco > gun eco)
