Question: Weapon Choice

Hi, I'm fairly new to EU and I was wondering what weapon I should be using at this point. I have 393 skill in rifle and I'm looking to hit 1,000 by next week.

As of right now I'm using a GDC-97 which has been a nice gun for me, it's just a poor gun economical. I have 100 PED and I am willing to sell the GDC-97 to get a better economical weapon.

Note: I can deposit so that isn't a problem, I would prefer not to though and work with just what I have.

Any information would and is appreciated.

Depends on if you want to stick with blp or go laser, plasma, grenade launcher, gauss etc.

That low a skill in blp might be isis icb 5. They are only about 5 ped full tt.

Stick to weapons with SIB. the choices you have for sib period rifle are
cb5 (blp)
opalo (laser)

handgun
m2100 (laser)
emiks30 (blp)

SIB will do considerably less damage than gdc to begin with but you will save in the long run. and hit 90-95% of the time.

Well the most popular and most likely the most economical weapon choice for beginners to skill rifle to 1000 is the solomate opalo rifle that you can obtain from the trade terminal.After that you just work your way up on the breer series (L) rifles.Another path is the blp rifle path, which you start with a CB5(L) rifle, then a geotrek Niloticus(L) and then the other CB(L) rifles. Sure, those rifles arent as powerful as the GDC-97, but they can be maxed out really fast and that means less missed shots.You would probably want to get an amp for those aswell to raise power(101 amp for opalo up to breer m1a will work just great and add economy aswell.Bull tac (L) series for the blp rifles.Just remember that amps can only increase your weapon damage up to half of it's maximum damage.)

It all depends on what you want to skill in. I would first max out the TT gun then go from there. Here is the list of (L) guns you should use in order of use. Remember that you need to look at the HA (Hit Ablilty) and CHA (chritical hit ablilty) to know how your doing on a gun. When you have the gun at 10/10 then you have it maxed out. If you follow the list of guns this is the most eco way of getting your skills up. Again your going to want to look and see what kind of guns you want to use. IE. Handguns - BLP or Laser or Plasma- Rifles- BLP or Laser or Plasma. ( I would stick with BLP or Laser use plasma as a tagin gun IE Marber Bravo)
Also for fun I have the Swords in there

I appreciate the responses so far. I play EU with a couple of buddies of mine and the GDC-97 is what they recommended to me. In my short time playing EU I've realized that you need to develop a plan and stick with it, and that EU for the most part is hit and miss (with loots).

Anyways, should I sell the GDC-97, and buy an Isis CB5 (I prefer BLP rifles) Or should I keep the GDC-97 for later use?

I also noticed that I skilled rather quickly (from about 30 skill to 300 in about two days) with the GDC-97 but it has dropped down a lot now.

CB5 is a good gun, They last FOREVER... it feels like... They are very good guns are are cheap.
Well, it depends I would sell the gun and use it for ped to buy a new gun/ammo. And use that to keep moveing up the ladder. Its going to take a long time to become eco with that gun. or any un (L) gun for that. (with the excpetion of a few guns)
However, some would say keep that gun and ONLY...ONLY USE IT WHEN YOU HAVE TO! hehe, ... The reason for that is if you ever run into a guy that you cant kill whip out the big gun.
However to tell you the truth. When you get up about a few guns in the BLP range they get better then the GDC-97. IE CB19 or the GEO. Both good guns.
So me personaly... I would sell the gun and team hunt with a friend useing
CB5/opalos and just go out and hunt some smaller guys that you can take with out armor, such as Corn (good spot N or argus or W of Caravan) another good mob is Snark, and Molisk, if you get a few more people all with Opalos and CB5s you can take on Argos at Twin or South of Had as well.

Remember the (L) guns have a SIB. so that will help you in your skilling process.

Yeah, I generally hunt with a buddy of mine and the Corns spot N of Argus and the Cauds West of TP mall were a few of our favorites.

As for the GDC-97, I'm going to auction it off and use that PED.
