PISTOLS:
I already have my own opinion as to which is better (H400 for those who are curious), for various reasons and this is the pistol I currently use with A103 and have used for a while now. However I'd like to see if others can offer reason to the contrary.

AMPS:

This is concerning two things:-
-Application on the aforementioned pistols
-Flexibility in application across a broad range of weapons

From what I can see (considering MU) the E-Amp13 is a better choice for someone like me who doesn't have masses of PED available to purchase such an expensive amp as the A106. Decay is relatively even, although the A106 has higher dmg/pec. I was however thinking about the fact that soon I will probably be moving to higher weapons that will require more damage than either of these can provide. Also one thing that came to mind is that we have no idea whether or not new amps are coming or whether omegatons could start dropping again (frequent enough to change market value) that could make the A106 not necessarily obsolete but perhaps not as highly valued.

Your thoughts please!

With 2006 full uses of A106 you will have (4,61-3,82) * 2006 = 15,85 Ped of difference in efficiency MU of A106 is 3k or 3.5 k? So you need at least 220 or less hunts to profit...once you pass those 200 hunts you'll be in heaven hehehe, remember each hunt will be 16 ped cheaper with A106 than with E13

Hmm when you put it in perspective like that, it makes sense... 220 hunts is only 1 month (approx).
The only problem, is that the price of the amp is around $700 NZD, which is a weeks pay!

I'm not sure if I'm at a point where I can justify that kind of investment in virtual items just yet hehe

Any opinion on whether the market situation may devalue the amps in the near future? What have the market trends been like over the last year? Up or down?

Perhaps you may have alternate suggestions in place of the 106? Or would the E13 be the next-best-thing to the 106?

imo items are atm in their current low.

its the time to buy and it can only raise or stay as it is so ur investment wouldnt be lost.

Unless you would suddendly want to quit the game and sell at loses, thus affecting value for every other owner. Or if others want to do same as you. But were in the crisis atm, were not at the start of it...those who wanted to leave, did already, so thats why price should stabilize a bit for now. Atleast thats what I think.

H400 is much better than p5a because of better reload and higher economy. Until we know more about how loot system works, is safe to say that A-106 is much better than any E-amp out there. However, using E-amp tells you that you will spend more. Not that you will loose more. No one knows exactly how relevant eco is.

H400 is way better in my opinion. I don't know about e-amp I've done
a small test with e-amp15 and I was not convince for hunting but who
know I was perhaps in a bad cycle.

Why a106? a104 and a105 is less expansive and work good with H400.

If you want to hunt bigger mob you can try a bigger pistol HL8/11/12/etc... with a104/a105

Eco matters to keep your cost down. However recent player research suggests that keeping cost down, may also lead to lesser loots.

The comparison that you need to do x hunts to start being more eco with the a106 is not a valid one, because you can sell the a106 for the same price as you buy it. (if the ingame economy does not collapse)

korss beats p5a in both eco and dmg/sec. But.. only if you click it always at 55 attacks. dmg/sec on korss is lower if you click it a tad slower then always at 55 attacks a min.

I realise the H400 is better, that's why I use it, I simply often find myself scratching my head as to why people are using P5a especially considering how easy they are to loot.
The reason I'm asking about the 106 (as opposed to 105/106) is because it offers both greater eco and damage. Also, I don't want to move up to HL6 because of how disgusted I was with the decay on the last (and only) one I used, also the HL8 is too pricey and likewise rather heavy on decay (and I cannot loot one as scip are too much for me to handle atm).
However, as I've been hunting Longu a lot lately in hope of seeing an F next to one of the tonnes of Gremlin thighs I loot (I don't buy stuff, except crafted hehe) I am considering using the emik T10 (L) when I eventually loot one (surprised I haven't already).
Again thanks for the feedback so far, I highly highly doubt I will be purchasing a 106 (or for that matter, any omegaton amps other than the 103 I already have) purely because of the ludicrous cost involved, however alternative suggestions are still welcome!

I'm not sure if you mean JC's tests on the influence of weapon type, or the regen tests (JimmyB, Witte, and others). The first one, on the influence of weapon, is highly inconclusive, while the others are extremely conclusive.

These tests on regen show that loot is somehow related to the amount of HP you kill from a mob. So, if you kill "more HP" (because of regen), you get more loot (how much more, is still not clear).
Then, eco should be seen as the difference in cost between _two equal activities_. If you kill _the same HP_ from a mob, using two weapons, there is no reason to think that you will get less loot using the more eco weapon.

As Blackhawk pointed out, until we are certain that loot works very differently than we think now, the safest path is to go with the eco choice.
