Laser or BLP?

I took up EU about a month ago after a long break and have since then skilled a lot with BLP-pistol. The thing is that before I took this long break, I manly used Laser Rifle/Carbine.

I've realised that this isn't perhaps the smartest way to split up my skills, so I've come to the conclution that I need to choose either Laser or BLP for some time.

I have about 3,5k skills in all the 4 major skills involved (Rifle, Handgun, BLP- and Laser Tech). I have a FF 8k M with a 106 on it (from way back then) and a FD Delta with a Beast.

What I'm considering at the moment is to either get a decent BLP-Rifle (damned expensive nowadays..) or a Laser Pistol. I want to be able to use both hangun (fast reloads for close-combat) and rifle (good range), but it seems more economical too focus in one weapon technology.

I'm leaning towards getting an EP 41 Military at the moment, since my Laser-tech is a bit higher and it seems less expensive than the BLP-rifles, but I'm just not sure.

Any advice or thoughts on this?
