Amp 50% Restriction - Need Clarification

Some time ago MA nerfed amps so that they could add no more than 50% more damage to a weapon.

So, for the Opalo, the best A10X amp is the A101? Because the A102 adds 7 damage which is more than the 50% limit. Am I conceptualizing this right?

exactly, so any dmg over that 50% mark is just wasted and also still used up decay-wise.

Also MA was suposed to write message when you over amp your weapon...

I got the message when I fired the weapon, not when I put the amp on. I have not tried it for a while so dont know if this is still the case.

i got it when i logged in after the update and took the opalo (with 104) in my hands
but
one of my disciples who was absent for some time, said he never got that message too
and it would be hard to miss, 2 or 3 lines of yellow text i think
maybe bug
you should get one when you try to add a bigger amp to a weapon

Seems not clear....

Imho the mesage should be red in main chat when you add the amp to weapon + one ligne red in the item description with all the stat.

just tested
dragged 104 to opalo in inventory, no message

took opalo in hands from inventory (dragged to me)
Your weapon cannot utilize the maximum power boost
the amplifier can provide

unequipped it, took it in hand with short key

thats a 2 line yellow text, you can hide with "read all other messages" in the chat window
it should make it more clear what it means, there is not a single worth of 50%, or anything what would cause this message

Does the Weapon Info screen show the new nerfed additional amp power?

So for M2100, it shows 4 for the M2100 in blue (or is it orange, can't remember which way round it is) and just 6 for the modified damage, being only 50%.

It may be that the %age may change in the future so MA do not want to put the hard-coded "50%" in the msg.

As to colour, yellow stands out well enough, probably better than red on a dark background and fits in with other warnings.

Come on people, do want MA to hold your hand and give you everything on a plate. This is supposed to be a voyage of discovery. :-)

I do agree with Etopia that the message should be displayed when you equip the weapon with the amp though.
