I will buy a mod merc.
What is best for me to do?
Use it to skill, or buy skills and then us it?
I have a hunting buget of 20K peds. Is best to keep for ammo, or to buy some skills to?

Well. I have no experiance with any high-level weapons, but I think buying skills to get good HA and Min dmg would be good before getting one of those..
I mean, mising all the time wouldn't be very eco

And you probably know that a MM might cost around 150k peds (I think I've heard it somewhere)...

My plan was to get a imp mk2, but now i wont for some personal reasons. I choosed to chip up to high skills at the begining (ok dident reach that high).

I bought skills for probably 25-30k(and hunted ALOT). Now my skills is
6.1 HA
7.8 Crit
151 hp
38.9% dmg
with 8 unlocked skills


If you whant to get it cheap , chip up to 6k(after that the new slower skill gain is added) these skills:
Handgun (HA)
Lwt (min dmg/HA)
Anatomy (min dmg)
Courage (for hp)

I can tell you tho , with a imp m2870 and thouse skills i dont profit the most times.

I think with the current skills system; this is what I recommended at the current time!

Maybe get some cheap skills in HG/ anatomy/ Lwt to name just a few…. LWT is very important … helps with damage… a lot of people underestimate this skill, but a close friend got KS as soon as the new vu took effect because of his incredible amount of LWT.

I would take skills until you see very shitty results from additional chips…. Like some bullshit results of maybe getting 30 levels for a good chip!

I agree with Nicole. First, it's not a good time to chip in my opinion. I think ESI prices are rediculous, but not sure if MA plans to fix that or not...

Regarding hunting with a MM, yes, you do need skills. I'd recommend chipping up to at least 5.0 HA. Chip up to 6.0 if you can afford it (or higher but that is when 1 chip will start giving you 12-30 skills each). Chip handgun and LWT to get your HA up. Anatomy is important too and will get your minimum damage up. Those are the 3 most important skills to get up IMO.

Also, just to let you know what to expect, I'm at:

8500 Rifle
10400 LWT
9000 Anatomy

My min damage on my imk2 is about 41% and my HA/crit HA are 6.7/8.2.

Also, I think the MM is a great weapon (borrowed it and love it). The weapon I own is an imk2. I think there is definitely a speed vs. efficienty trade-off between the 2 when you don't have uber skills in general. I felt that if I were to have a MM only, then I'd need an adj, imp or mod FAP at a minimum. Mobs are closer so you're gonna get hit more and thus more armor decay. With a good FAP, you don't need armor.

With the imk2, I can take Longu Stalkers in Rascal+5B when using an A106 and may only get hit once. The imk2 is more efficient and you take less decay because you can kill most mobs before they get to you.

I guess it just boils down to what kind of mobs you want to hunt. Uber mobs that drop ATH's, MM definitely. Ambu, Longu, Armax, etc. I like the imk2. I will only sell my imk2 and go to a MM when all my skills are up more and I can afford both a MM and imp/mod FAP.

I wd agree with 2 above posts, and I'm MM user since 2003. ModMerc is not good for any mob sometimes it could be overkill to use MM, and u need some skills for it to be efficient. But it's a lot more fun than imk2 and once u master it u can go for any current mob ingmae, imk2 although has it's limits and they are ambu, longu and armax.

p.s. And the last - I used to own that MM u are buying now, GL and many HOF's.

Ty for your replyes, but the amount of skills you recomand me to buy I think will go out of my buget... I just stated my buget in the first post. And none of you considered the option of using the gun with a estimated accepted loss of 20k PEDS.
In 20K peds with a average return of 60% I will still have 12k peds for hunt after I waste all in one big run. Potentialy, my skills are higher, so at the next level I will lose less, maybe 80%, and I'll have about 9k for hunts. After that, my skills I hope there could be high enough to break eaven. So I will only lose as much as I can deposit on regular basis. I still can put in about 20-30$/month if I have to. Maybe more...
My HA on pistols is 3.8 and 4.2 on Rifle.
I have 5.3k Rifle and 4.3k HG, 132 HP.

What do you think about my skilling theory? Is it unreal? stupid? Good to try? Or just buy as many skills as I can?

I agree with the skilling theory to some extent, especially as you will be getting other skills than if you just chipped. I think the 'high enough to break even' is a bit tenuous though...

Just my .02- I'd buy the MM now. I notice I get a lot more skill gains then when I use improved 2870. Not sure you can prove it but I think improved gives more skills then non improved, Mod gives more skills then improved (and not just because of more attacks per minute)
True you dont get the range with a MM that you get with im Mk2 but most of the mobs come at you so quick now it seems like a mute point to me. Tag with a plasma to build those plasma skills, switch to mm and own
