Best weapons

What are the best hunting weapons for making a profit, assuming one has enough skills? I've read a little about IMK2 and modmerc but are there others? What monsters can/should I hunt with them, and how much do the weapons cost? Also which weapons require/cater to wearing uber armor and which can be used with relatively inexpensive armor?

You forgot to add uncolored snable skinned basic pattern clothes, with those magic manell shoes!

On topic: Prince.., one should use weapons that have SIB (skill increase bonus), those that are appropriate to his current skills, meaning hit and damage ability at 10/10, meaning maxed out weapon. This is as close as one can speak of profiting in hunting... eco to be more precise.., means that one have a slightly better chance to profit SOMETIMES in hunting...

As for the best weapon in game: Terminator would be the 1st I think, but Its only one in game and not for sale I think. Then there are the ones you mentioned already, but cost to buy is insane...

Considering the Korss' relatively limited power compared to other guns (and thus, limiting me to mid-level monsters), could I get away with adj fap? Maybe some cheap armor with negligible decay to slightly soften damage? What kind of monsters would be ideal to hunt with this setup? Would I need a tagging gun, and if so, what's a good choice (preferrably not too expensive as it's just for tagging)?

ehh...adj fap heals 50 and mod fap heals 160..that's a HUGE difference and NO, you cannot do the things you do w/ modfap with an adj fap.

You might as well tell him how much he will be paying?
adjfap: 30k - 40k
modfap: 300k - 400k
rough estimates ^^^
Don't know about UL korss, but i know it's not too powerful.

If you have enough skills, it's IMK2. (+AIMK2)
Some other nice ones out there too (check wiki for dmg/pec and dmg/sec).

Korss eco sucks, IF you have enough skills to (nearly) max normal weapons.

People talk about profit with this setup and that setup.

Thats something I've never looked for or believed will happen. I pay for my enjoyment and thats that.

To put into context, I've been using a maxed L gun (X1) for the past 2 months and I usually, unless disturbed, do 30k ammo runs, usually a few times at weekends, but 30k is usually the point where i need to repair my armour etc.

I've only covered my ammo + dante costs once in the past 2 months and that was with a 300 ped global. Every other time, I've been down, so the no armour thing and never getting hit still wouldn't make me profit. I'm not whining as, like i said previously, I PAY for the enjoyment, but all this profit talk is for the chosen ones, very lucky ones, or MA

why you think that a good weapon guarantees profit for you? eve nif you hunt with the beste weapons ingame, you can loose a lot..

I HOPE that a good weapon combined with good hunting strategy and enough skills guarantees positive long-term expectation. That doesn't mean every hunting run I make a profit. It means if I make 1000 runs using the same strategy, my overall bottom line will be positive. I might lose money 700 out of 1000 times and make just a small profit 250 times, but if I get an uberloot the other 50 times then it will more than compensate for the losses. Those are arbitrary numbers but you get the idea. Yes you can have a temporary bad run of luck no matter how good your expectation is, but the longer you do it the more actual results will reflect the long-term expectation.
