Maddox IV

Hey all,

Can somebody explain to me how Unlimited guns work? I have been skilling blp pistols for about four months now and have the svempa t5 maxed out. I want to buy the unlimited Maddox IV, however my hit ability is like 2.2 / 10 with it...and the min damage that I do is about half of the min damage the gun says. With that said, I would just figure that I don't have enough skills to use it, but I then checked the maddox I...and oddly enough my min damage was at about 1/2 and my HA was 2.2. Why is this?

Second question...What skill lvl do I need to be at to use the maddox IV efficiantly? with a HA of at lest 7.5?

Your HA on all unlimited pistols will be identically frustrating. I use (L) guns when I can find one at a price I can afford where my HA is 5.0-10.0/10.0 (because of the Skill Bonus). Or just get one I've already maxed because it is such a cool feeling to get so few misses and often 2-3 crits in a row.

I keep the Mad IV around for when I can't get another (L) gun at that moment, but pay dearly in decay and missed shots. What's nice about the Maddox though, is that at 70 shots/min, the misses don't just quite so bad while using it (just until you repair it lol).

You'll be skilling a LONG time before you become efficient on an UL weapon. Take the (L) path wherever you can.

Edit: Solaris put together an outstanding list of the progression through the SIB (Skill Improvement Bonus) weapons. Use it to choose your next weapon to skillup on.

Guide to "Skill Increase Bonus" on weapons

Note, these weapons get mighty expensive as your skills grow, so you may want to stick with a weapon for a while even after you've maxed it and are ready to progress.

There are 2 types of unlimited weapons, one is the old style weapon used before L weapons were introduced. These include the maddox range and they all need a pro standing of 100 to max them. To get get the 7.5HA u wish would require a pro standing of 75 which is a hell of a lot of skilling (a few years for a heavy hunting) or a couple hundred thousand peds of chips

The 2nd type of unlimited weapon has just recently been introduced. These have a skill increase bonus(SIB) and require a skill level to max them much lower than 100 pro standing.

Unfortunatly these unlimited guns with SIB are rare, and due to not needing massive amounts of skills to max them they sell for a lot of peds, anywhere from a couple of k up to over 100kped depending on power of gun

The Hit ability is the same on all non sib hand guns. there is no difference if u use maddox 1 or IV. u should stick to L as much as u can.

maddox IV is a cool gun with beast and u will surely like it but the miss, decay and minim damage when u have 2.2 HA will make it a big ped hole. on 200 ped amo the decay is around 120 ped on gun+ amp (not counting scope and sight) U can have ~ the same damage/s with the maxed t5 + beast

Yes but... The mouseover on the HA says "it also depends on the choice of enemy"... That remains a big questionmark for me.

I think this refers to player enemies rather than mob enemies. However, if it's easy to hit mobA with gunA but gunB is better for mobB then that really throws a spanner in the works for all the statisticians

there u can put ur check ur dmg/pec with alot of options like HA and % at the (L) gun.. i put your 2,2HA and it looks like very uneco thing.. i put mine 3.0HA on the maddox IV and its more eco than svempa T5 @ 148% and much more eco than LP470 @160%

You've made a mistake somewhere entering your stats. Did u put your min dam in? this needs to be the unamped min dam. Did u enter the mad4 first then forget to remove your 3.0HA when u done the T5? something has gone wrong somewhere, the T5 is far better eco with your skills

Skill up to lvl 65-70 atleast in BLP(dmg) pistoleer(hit) if u want to use the Mad4 economically efficeint. It's a very powerfull gun and very fun to use but without sufficient skills u can actually see the PED's flying out from the gun as u shoot

Seriously u need much more skills to use the Mad4 with better eco than T5.. as slither said, u must've got something wrong there

I just checked entropiatools and u will use the Mad4 more efficeiently (with beast amp) then Svempa T5 @ 148% about when u unlock Kill Strike (lvl 80 dmg) and around the same Hit lvl (long after u unlock Commando)
