Background: A while ago i heard the idea that 10/10 was not the top limit of weapons. That a properly attached scope and laser might improve the HA and Crit slightly further. I found this idea intreaging and decided to test it out at once.
Goal: To calculate the hit- and critrate of a unscoped and scoped 10/10 weapon and compare the result. Equipment: Korss h400(l). Omegaton A105. Alekz Precicion scope (2% mod). 2 Abrer laser sight (12.5% mod each). 100k bullets. Prey: Allophyl Young-Dominant. Location: East of Reis Defence. Experiment: I decided to fire 49995 bullets, or 5555 shots unscoped and 49995 shots scoped into the Allos. All bullets was fired at point blank range, and i have a very good connection making Lag nearly nonexistent. I then counted the hits and misses aswell as the damage and number of crits. Results unscoped: Shots: 5555. Hits: 5040. Misses: 515. Total damage: 204421,2. Average damage (all shots): 36,244. Average damage (hits only): 39,887. Criticals: 85. Crits per shot: 0,015301. Results scoped: Shots: 5555. Hits: 5001. Misses 554. Total damage: 202164,4. Average damage (all shots): 36,393. Average damage (hits only): 39,718. Criticals: 90. Crits per shot: 0,016202 Conclusion: As you can see, the scopes did not affect the HA or damage in any way except from perhaps neglectiable ammounts. The biggest change could be observed in the Criticals that was slightly higher for the scoped gun. However the number of Crits was very low and the actual difference was only 5 in 5555+5555 shots making it hard to make any true predictions. |

Sounds about right. I switch to scope when I miss more than twice in a row with my sib gun, since that is most likely due to lag and switching to zoom mode seems to sort that out instantly.

If you already had HA 10/10 on cross itīs not strange it didnt make a diffrence. Since you cant shoot better than 10/10. (Yes it is top)
However if you use a weapon with lower HA say 3-5 I think you will get more intresting numbers since Scope/Lasers are supposed to increase HA. The reason you are able to get higher HA is for weapons requiring 20/20 for example (wich I guess will come further on) /regards Major Rage |

I know that. But i had heard rumours that said you could get better than 10/10 with a scope and laser. The purpouse of the experiment was to see if it was true. As far as i can tell it was not.

Ties in with similar findings made in this thread:
The efficiency of scopes/lasers I think we can be certain that scope/sight attachments on maxed SIB weapons make no difference to hit or damage rate. It's still possible (even likely) that they do increase skill gain. We need further research on the effect of attachments on un-maxed weapons, and I don't think anyone has tested on maxed non-SIB weapons, which would obviously require someone with very high skills (I would expect this would be the same as SIB, but we don't know for sure until we try). |
