Which Stark to buy?

A hogglo will need around 13.2 seconds to reach you if you shot it with max distance from a 147. It’ll need 10.56 seconds with the max range of a 129. That would give the 147 2.64 extra seconds to fire 2.5 shots at the hogg. Based on that numbers I’ll do some math!

I’ll compare the 147 and 129 under certain circumstances (amps) and calculate how much damage (always calculated on max damage) each rifle will inflict until the hogg reaches the shooter.

Both rifles unamped:
Stark 147 = 653.64 HP (4.13 eco)
Stark 129 = 570.60 HP (4.13 eco)

Winner = Stark 147 @ +83.04 HP

Both rifles amped with Beast:
Stark 147 = 892.47 HP (4.19 eco)
Stark 129 = 751.29 HP (4.18 eco)

Winner = Stark 147 @ +141.18 HP

Both rifles amped with Cause:
Stark 147 = 980.46 HP (4.08 eco)
Stark 129 = 817.86 HP (4.09 eco)

Winner = Stark 147 @ +162.60 HP

Stark 147 amped with Cause and Stark 129 amped with Dante (since Dante doesn’t gain HP for Stark 147):
Stark 147 = 980.46 HP (4.08 eco)
Stark 129 = 855.90 HP (4.18 eco)

Winner = Stark 147 @ +124.56 HP

Think this is a quite interesting result. The comparison up to Cause didn’t surprise me, but I didn’t expect that the 129 will loose with a Dante attached to it. Well, based on those results I would rather buy a Stark 147 than a Stark 129. Even tho there might be more aspects to base a decision upon. Gotta go for now, will check the thread again later…

i dont think this is very relevant unless the attacking mob dies before it reaches you (or within ~10 sec after it reaches you).
if you are fighting a hogglo it will still be quicker to kill it with an as129 compared to as147 since the as129 has higher DPS.

i prefer as129 over as147 since it can use dante and has higher DPS. if the adj97 is an option i would go for that no doubt.

I’ve decided to add the stats of the adj Stark and the Stark ME as well, but these rifles won’t “compete” against the common Starks. I’ll also add the eco for each combination!

Both rifles unamped:
Adj Stark = 762.28 HP (4.14 eco)
Stark ME = 744.24 HP (4.11 eco)

Winner = Adj Stark @ +18.04 HP

Both rifles amped with Beast:
Adj Stark = 1,007.76 HP (4.20 eco)
Stark ME = 996.75 HP (4.17 eco)

Winner = Adj Stark @ +11.01 HP

Both rifles amped with Cause:
Adj Stark = 1,098.20 HP (4.10 eco)
Stark ME = 1,089.78 HP (4.07 eco)

Winner = Adj Stark @ +8.42 HP

Both rifles amped with Dante:
Adj Stark = 1,143.42 HP (4.17 eco)
Stark ME = 1,116.31 HP (4.07 eco)

Winner = Adj Stark @ +27.11 HP

The adj Stark has won every single comparison, even tho all decisions have been very close. The Stark ME might catch up with the adj Stark when the mob arrives, because you won’t get hit that often (just a theory) + you can switch quicker between rifle and FAP. Just some guesses on the numbers…

Good point that it doesn’t matter that much! Agree with you on that point. What about the advantage of the higher fire rate the 147 has over the 129? I know it’s only 3 shots per minute, will they make a difference!? I’m not talking about the damage per sec issue, I’m talking about the “getting hit” thing…

If you had the PEDs which Stark (147, 129, adj or ME) would be your choice?

you've just done the comparison above... adj97 wins on damage and economy. also slightly better range than 147ME, though looses slightly on actual rate of fire. no brainer really and 129/147 will always loose to the other two.

Yeah, the 147 and the 129 won’t really be an option against the adj and ME. That’s clear, but I’m still a bid indecisive about the matches in the “same categories“. Atm I tend to buy an adj Stark (if the PEDs are available for me), even tho the other rifles seem to be nice ones as well.

According to DrDoom the ME is very rare and therefore it could be a nice investment. I like its speed as well, but I think that I’ll go with the adj Stark.

I’ll inform you about my purchase when I’ve done it (no matter which will be the “winner” in the end). After some time I’ll update the thread with my personal feedback on the rifle. Hopefully this thread will help other indecisive guys as well…

As-147 Mentor Edition is a great gun man.Terrific Speed 59 Attacks in minute and range of 80 m(81 dmg/sec with cause amp).

Just bought a AS-147 ME and i can only say that this is a great toy.
Very fast and good dmg/sec with Cause or Dante. Considering the firerate i hold this for the best Stark among the once discussed in this thread.
