Which Stark to buy?

Hi guys!

I could use your help in a weapon decision. Right now I’m considering buying a Stark, but I’m not 100% sure which one is the right fit for me. The ones I have in mind are the 147, 129 or maybe even the adj version.

Now I would love to have some thoughts from owners what they think about them. The 147 seems to be the “weakest”, but I like the fire rate and the range of it – especially compared with the 129. The 129 will loose only 1 damage point when it’s amped with a Dante, but the range isn’t that great.

The adj Stark could become a bit too expensive for me, but I’ll take it into consideration as well. If I buy a 147 or 129 I’ll have enough PEDs to upgrade my BLP skills, since I’ve never really used BLP weapons. But I don’t care about eco that much in this case, I just love the range and damage/sec ratio of these fine rifles.

Which one would you pick?

Having a AS-147 and like alot, amped with a "Cause".
Good firerate and underpriced makes it a good wpn imo.

i think the 129 tends to be overpriced as its lack of range compared to the 147 isnt made up for by the extra damage. its a rifle, range should be an important criteria. when i covered this thought process a couple of months back i choose the adj97 get the range and damage - simple really. prices of 129/147 have dropped since, making it more open to debate.

I have the 129... The reason I went for it vs 147 is that it can be amped with a Dante with minor losses. I am pretty satisfied with it so 129 all the way

Hmmm…

It ain’t easy to choose the “right” rifle from those. A socmate owns a 147, maybe I should borrow it to go out for a hunt with it.

A burning question in my mind is “do the few extra damage points of the 129 beat the range of the 147?” The 129 is also a bit more expensive, do you think it’s worth it!?

Which Stark (of those three) will be the best bet pedwise, as an investment etc?

Subjectively I would always pick a weapon with bigger range, if I had the choice.

However its not easy 1:0, because the 129 will take dante, and give superior DPS over 147, that will even out the range advantage.

I have a as 147 for sale if you decide to buy one, i bought it at tt+5700 something (i think its the latest sold), i can sell it at tt+5,7k.

Well, one of the better is the Adj 97. Had one some week ago and it worked great. Not that overpriced, very good, u can find it around tt +11k.
Look in twin, Helena sell one i think.

And the range is awesome of course, at least better than 147,117,129

I currently use the 147 Mentor Edition.

Excellent firerate , good range I amp it with a 'beast', does good dmg/sec.


I saw there is a Starkov 147 Mentor Edition for sale at the moment on auction.
If the price don't go crazy try to buy that one. (The price could be rise a bit due it very rare, as far as I know, only 5 of them ingame)

I'm a stats fan, so it would be interesting to calculate the exact advantage of range vs damage or the other way. Does anybody know how many seconds a mob like hogglo needs to run 22.5 meters?

With this calculation we could figure out how much use the additional range (of the 147) will have compared with the higher damage (of the 129). I’ll keep the adj Stark out of this calculation, since its result is pretty clear in that case
