maxed weapons

when a weapon is maxed, do the maxed values stay with the gun? or do they default to original values?

The 'maxed' value on the gun is because of your skills, and you will have max value on every gun of that level, as well as any new guns of that level you acquire.

The only way to lose 'max' values on a gun is by removing some of your skills by chipping.
