The efficiency of non-SIB weapons.

As an old PE player, I've been bothered by something for a great deal of time now.

Have non-SIB weapons actually decreased in efficiency with the release of SIB weapons or were they always that bad to begin with? (Compared to the current SIB weapons.) Because I frankly can't remember how often I used to miss in the old days.

dont remember to well but i think the non sib hit rate has decreased after the introduction of sib ... but it's only an impression i have dont really have a proof

The non-L gear haven't been changed... Not directly.

But before the L gear was introduced, the average efficiency in the game was much lower, and therefor the old weapons were better than they are today.
Now they have to compete with maxed out Korss-400 etc, and they lose big time, unless you nearly max them out.

Put another way, the non-L gear hasn't changed but the whole world around them has.

same here but dont have proof , must say ive noticed the same thing with more misses with UL weapons.

Most probably non SIB weapons have been silently nerfed to push ppl towards the SIB world , just take the dropping of UL SIB guns as an example of how to introduce SIB to mid - higher level players.

ofcourse , but tested alot before i chipped out and sold off all skills, sure i wasnt highskilled ( lvl 18 laser sniper ) but still noticed a difference before and after the introduction of SIB L weapons.

maybe its just me.. dunno ....

i agree that most ppl skills are too low for non sib but, i am sure that when i started, i used non sib weapons with 1.1 HA and did not miss that much that i miss now with 4.0 HA (but that may be just the impression after using an maxed gun, after u use an L gun, the non sib guns seem to miss more and that may be the fact not the nerf of the non sib .... but still i have a impression that they have been slightly changed)

The HA to hit rate has been ~80% @ 0 HA to ~90% @ 10 HA for a very long time. That's the rate most everyone who tests has found. The thing is, you only get that if you're careful about your shots. I think it's gotten easier to "miss" by being hasty or firing too fast compared to before, but generally speaking the "lag misses" are not deducted from your ammo. So it's more of a perceptual thing than actuality.

There's no doubt that the loot scheme has changed, though. When they altered it so that formerly always-loot mobs could have no loot and exas and snables could hit 10k+ earlier this year, that change also (had to) mean that the median (not mean), or "typical" return % was reduced. The change makes it harder to "break even" with SIB weapons and even more so with inefficient, unmaxed OUL weapons.

I came across a fascinating, yet also crucial fact yesterday. There is one clear case where non-SIB weapons can dramatically lower costs, even at low levels.

Damage per second. A rapidly firing, high damage weapon can lower FAP and armor costs, a factor which increases as the maturity (and thus also the HP) of the mob grows.

Just something to consider, folks.
