I want my Bono Shades to work

This came up in random discussion with a socmate.. he complained that hunting allo's hurt his eyes. My immediate reaction was 'OMG ME TOO!'

Prior to him mentioning it I thought maybe I was just crazy, and it didn't bother others, but we both agreed that having to look up in the sky at the big allos makes the virtual sun shine in your eyes, and the flashing of the electricity after a while is annoying too. I mentioned it to another friend and he said it bothered him as well.

The it occured to me.. My avatar is wearing sunglasses that cost more than my real sunglases.. WTF don't they do anything?!

try mining in segna for four hours.... all white background burnin yer retinas then the flashy bomby thingy every 15 or so seconds barring a claim
add to that a 32 inch plasma monitor....even with gamma wayyy down it hurts.

Wear your sunglasses irl!! LOL Yeah it would be nice to have actual working VR sunglasses for your avatar. But that might be coming in CE2!! For the night and day cycles.... Turn your sunglassed into infra-red for night and sun blocking, uv blocking devices during the day!!

I remember reading a discussion on the "lens flare effect" that was so common in 3D games from several years ago. All these 3D games trying to improve the realism, but here's the funniest thing: the "lens flare effect" is a TOTAL LIE! It's BOGUS! No human eye on earth produces the "lens flare effect"!! Only cameras and such produce this effect, IRL...

Isn't it strange how an in-game effect that never really existed with the human eye became one of the most commonplace 3D lighting effects in practically every game after Quake 3?
