An Ignore "avatar's chat" functionality.

Thats why i speak about eve.
In eve you can create chanel (like IRC) and you can ignore people in the chanel or general.
You can create open chanel or private chanel.
There a list of the existing chanel.
For exemple there general trade chanel, weapon trade chanel , french chanel , english chanel...
There also local chanel , its a local chat , for 1 town or region...

I would just like to have a custom auto-reply for chat requests when I can't respond... something like:

[SB2](AutoReply) " Sorry... Up to my ass in Atrox right now... Please try again later... Have a nice Day! "

I don't feel we need an "ignore" button.

If you are up to your eyes in a battle remember - nearly all players have been there. They will understand and have no objection to your messaging them later - besides - you then have a serious topic for discussion - all the hofs and globals you achieved!!

Surely the best way to ignore players completely is to:

A - remove them from your friends list
or
B - thank them politely for their message and add that you no longer wish to speak with them
or
C - thank them politely and say you are too busy to chat right now but fail to get back to them every time they message you - they will soon get the message.
D - if they repeatedly private message you, simply stay silent and ignore the message

No need to ever be rude by sending an automated message that I personally would find insulting.

Far better to remain silent if you can't be polite or pleasant.

Spamming is done by email.
Flooding is constantly posting lines in an open chat.

I like this idea a lot. Not sure if more annoying are the trade messages spammed into general chat (instead of trade one) or living crap written by certain individuals. Personaly i would put such a function in use, e.g. at Neas Place where one of such players appears regularly. And i don't want turn off the general chat completely, as sometimes... there really interesting discussion appears.


p.s. I did noticed this thread is from 2006, so i would like to apologise for practicing necromancy skill, but i felt it would be better to use old thread than create new one for same purpose.
