Is it time for an Ignore User button ?

In every other MMORPG and pretty much any chat interface or single player game with online capability, there has been an ignore user button. I cant think of any in which you cant.

This is the first game online that I have played in which you cannot switch someone off who is getting his kicks out of being deliberately annoying.


So, what do you all think - we got optional windowed mode after Mindark saw the results of that poll, do we want to be able to ignore people such as in the attached pic?

to MA in a support case. "forwarded to design team" I was quite upset when I made the suggestion as some scabber (worst derivation of scammer) pm'd and pt'd me 43 times in under 3 minutes while I was hunting - or trying to. I sent screen shots and the LifeScanner data on the idiot. He is still in game 7 weeks later.

i know you can ignore people on the friendslist. But yes, it would be good to be able to ignore people in the mainchat aswell, and have a option which ignores trade and chat attempts automaticly from some people.

Because some folks know how to really get onto your nerves...

I'm a bit surprised that MA designteam havn't done that already, since there's bound to be a great deal of complains to Support every day on that matter.

Though I would like to add that it should be a message to the (mis)user:

[Pepper] This avatar has banned you from all further chat.


Or something like that.

The guy in the picture was a nose candy junkie from Portugal btw. He haressed me to with PM'ing a while ago, so I added him on FL and instantly hit the ignore function. He's been bugging people for weeks. I was really surprised to see that there was a soc that accepted him as member. Since all he did, as far as I could see, was to run around and spam and harass ppl.

And after any avatar has been rejected 10 times by 10 seperate avatars :

Your Main Chat (or PM / PT) privileges have been auto-suspended for 7 days by MindArc

For those who may be considering "what about if I want to unignore someone, or made a mistake" well other games actually have an ignore list which you can go into and remove names if youve made an error or theyve changed their ways.


Just to clarify, this poll is not directed at the Twin / PA etc shout buyer / sellers here either - they provide a great service to me when I need to sell 10 animal hide, 5 molisk teeth etc

I can see the danger in misuse here though... One seller decides to silence another for instance. All you need is 9 friends...
