Just an Idea

I've been thinking about this for a while and I think that MA should add Swap Meets to the game. Now I know a lot of you are probably thinking that PA and Twin are already a lot like swap meets, but there is one key thing that is missing. There are no small shops. I think it would be quite easy for MA to add a small patch of land outside of a couple of major cities that were dedicated swap meet areas. You could rent a small portion of land for a day and put your wares out for the public to see. This way shops are not just for the rich, you can handle multiple people at once, and the chat spam in major trade areas will decrease.

This would benefit both MA by creating a continuous flow of income and new traders who don't have the money or experience to open a shop. I know that I would pay a ped or two to try my hand at running a shop.

Not at all!

I know MA can be a bit greedy sometimes.
But, this may solve the lag issues at PA and Twin Peaks.
Plus, it would be a real boost for starting traders and, of course, to the whole economy.

Look at it like this:
MA wins a little fee for renting the place and a little TAX from whatever people sell. Now multiply this by the number of available spaces new traders will be using, lets say... 1,000. And now by 360 days.

With time, people who benefit from this by gaining PEDs quickly, will surely spend their earnings on TT stuff or even high priced shops.

As always, the economy grows and new comers give MA lots of money.
They can't possibly loose!

I like the sound of that. It would also cut down a lot of the spam in main chat too methinks.

It's appealing idea, but it's not going to happen. First of all, auction would suffer. And it would have to be cheaper than auction, because otherwise i see no sense to it. But if it would be cheaper than auction, it would be in competition with shops, which for sure MA doesn't want. New players won't use it for sure, middle level uses auction, ubers can afford a shop, or just don't care.

(L) shops? I love it Would be nice to go to a market with a whole bunch of small stands where people cpold rent a space for 10-20 items for a day. Sometimes I hate going to the mall, it makes me all dizzy to run from shop to shop when I'm looking for somthing. Don't think this will happen but it is a nice idea.

it's a great idea but again, like everyone says it probably won't happen

however, there is a similar idea, there are lots of "small" shops already. there are shop stands where you put your items and people can come and look, and buy. these are located in mostly amethera apartment buildings in the base floor, but also found some in hadesheim. there are also little rooms like shopping mall shops but not exactly, in amethera. they probably cost a fortune though (as they are estates)

Great idea
Buy a L boot from the TT that will last X amount of days, put it up, display your goods, when it expires what is not sold ends up back in the inventory, every sales generate tax like the shops, cant see that this should be to hard to do

Still I dont think it will ever happen
