no, i don't mean MA themselves, but rather some sort of terminal or TT purchased handheld device.

when used you'd place your item into it and it would take a percentage of the tt and return it to your ped card. sort of an unrepair terminal.

there are plenty of times i want to some cash but don't want to tt my item.

Yeah, Ive had to tt items with small markups (2-3 peds) when I had to because of an auction, and over time this will have added up to a large amount + rep I would love this!

I think that was the original idea behind the banks (pawn shops, although over-priced). Bu there was an idea I had a while back.... can't find the post.
Well my idea was a disassembly profession. Where you are able to salvage items, mostly (L), for parts. The reasoning is that at minimum condition, you can't even place them in your apartment. The only thing you can do with them is TT them.
Also, you would be able to 'force decay' on items and receive either PEC or residue equal to the amount that you 'force decayed' from the item. Of course to prevent the abuse of this system, over time the MAX TT Value of the item would drop after, say 10, 'force decays'.
I mean, there are times that NEED PEDs but I can't bear the thought of TT'ing something and regretting it later.

But in all actuality, since the PED that would go to the TT going to players instead....I don't ever see this becoming a possibility!

This functionality could be included in the repair terminal.

Just allow the slider a -100% to +100% range. The negative values would decay the item returning some tt value to you, and heck, they could even charge me a 1 pec decay fee for all the lag it will cause.

Much better in my eyes as I do not ever see myself using a Pawn Sh.... er, Bank in-game.

The last thing that MA wants you to be able to do is pull peds out of an item! They make their money because you lose the peds from an item through decay and then have to repair it. No way would they want you to pull those peds out yourself.

Kirov is right, it's a dream thingy that will never be implemented.

What do you do today if you need quick money but don't want to sell anything? Deposit!
But would you deposit in this case if you could extract some value from your stuff without losing it? The answer is obvious.
So, no way for PED-from-MA extractor .

Apartments would be full of completely drained furnishings (although I hear rumors that the drapes now look shabby if they aren't fully repaired). It would allow people to keep and use their peds instead of having them tied up in MA's hands.

i don't see this being a bad thing for MA at all. if they get paid by decay isn't it in their best interests to let me spend my excess peds on ammo/weapon/amp/mining/etc decay instead of stuck in my chairs, bed, shelves, decorative weaponary, etc?

let me tell you i'd spend the extra peds. recirculate it in a heart beat, and i am sure a lot of other would as well.

i also don't get the motive behind 50% min value on SIB UL items. why make me keep 1500 ped tied up in tt value and not let me shoot it to the winds??
