Arguments like this never get resolved. Both sides have a position based on an interpretation that "withstands" the attack of the other because it ignores the perspective that the other has.

Both sides of this argument have merit.

Both sides have also become entrenched in a stubborn interpretation of the merits presented by the other.

This makes this a fun thread to read, if not to post in.

Let me state that from a PRAGMATIC perspective, it would certainly be nice if some of the more prevalent armors had footies. Yes, I'm speaking of ghost armor primarily, and yes, I still need a pair. I'm not throwing a fit to get them, but I am willing to tell MA that it's in THEIR BEST INTERESTS to provide them (as well as others).

The question is how.

One way is to drop more limited BP's (without going TOO fast and far), so the upsurge in availability can be controlled. What's more, the increase in crafting and such would be the equivalent of an "economic stimulus plan". Not only would the market increase create more deposits for the purchases directly, it would create more crafting, hence a complete chain of activities.

Thereafter, the stimulus continues with more people using the armor they recently completed, and for mobs they wouldn't have gone after prior to completing it. A study of how many people are now hunting in reduced (or no) armors would very likely find that the hunted mob maturity levels would increase (a lot, actually). The result? More fun, more deposits, more profit for MA.

There you have it, my totally "logical" explanation of why MA should get busy on the footies! (of all armor types in wide scale use).

The problem: I think MA would prefer those armors stay in storage so we'd buy the pre-nerfed (L) armors. Once the UL armor is all but gone, I'm sure MA will begin their slow "boiling frog" nerf of (L) armors. Kind of like the mother that offers her kid a shiny toy to get them to let go of the car keys... That shiny toy never outlasts the fun and usefullness of those keys.

And so MA nerfed our weapons and we were displeased but loyal. Now, when MA massively nerfs everything and tells us to put our weapons and skill aside, to go forth and color and texturize our clothes, are we to do so dispite it being an abomination to what was ONCE good?!?

Foot Guards.

Pfft!

I have accepted that they are "the gold at the end of the rainbow."

IE. Nice to get in theory, but not something I will ever loot.

I bought a set of shogun feet at a greatly inflated price. I never put them on though, as I have to take my shoes off, and that costs decay. The odd Mob attack that hits my little toe I can cope with.

Q> "where are the promised foot guards?"

A> "Nowhere."

Yes, Dorsai -- can't say you are wrong there!

Ofc, next VU MA just might have mobs with an intelligence over 40 "aim" for that big toe! (and the VU after that: mobs with an int over 30...)

I bought a set of Boar feet a few weeks ago, and the price wasn't that bad at all. Sure it isnt Shadow, but protection is pretty good. I dont know for sure, but it looks like Boar drops often enough to keep the price low. So for all you low-to-middlevel hunters just buy Boar, put some 5b's on them and you are fine (against hoggs, aurli's, kreltin, atrox, ambu's, drones, warriors, corno's, Longu's etc etc.).

p.s. still pretty weird that ghost feet are STILL so rare. Ghost is probably the most used armor in EU, but you almost never see any feet in auction.........

This week i've looted Vigi (F), Bear (M), 2x Gremlin (M), 2x Gremlin (F), 1x Palidin (F) & 5x Pixie foot guards (not including the 15 pairs of Gnome foots we got on SOC BM ).

So I think all the arguements on where the foot guards are are just silly, cause its obvious to see that foot guards DO still drop but now the higher end ones are "almost" as rare as looting another armour part of that set.

I can tell you that since several month I did not loot any footguard at all.

In the last couple of weeks since I came back from my Break from EU, I've only seen 5 or 6 Ghost Footguards on Auction, there could have been more, since someone could have bought one at BO... Which is not a good idea IMO.

Eventually something will be done about it, In the meantime I'm using Zombie feet

The Newbies are happy though, there's enough Pixie Footguards looting that well, I can't see them running out...

I also have not looted any footguards in the weeks after my break, Lots of oils and other crap though...

The footguards which get TT'd a lot still drop in abundance, and the rare FGs have indeed ceased dropping. This is the correct time to whine about not having enough footguards, not at the peak of footguard boom, when this thread was made

Its ESI time atm btw...
