I don't blame them really.

They have in my opinion one of the worst educational systems in the civilized world.
(in terms of system that is)
puting cross in front of the right question althought easier to correct by the teacher doesn't show knowledge retention, after 1 week even if they trully knew the answer and didn't got it right by pure chance they will most likelly forget it.

Until they get to University where it gets better, and becomes one of the best (if the students still want to learn).

Anyway enciclopedial knowledge tests are over rated, farmers of the 18th century lived all their lives without them and where able to be part of the construction of great nations by feeding those who trully matter.
