epic fail to a joke.

Anyways, wow... this is more intriguing than the time I found an ant hill and destroyed it. This thread is full of epic win, jesus, so many theories. This is probably the greatest information we have on mars. Who knows there could be definitely subsurface life, I mean... water would be stable that far into the planet. I can't wait until more information is revealed on this.

Awesome find Yirrk.

On earth there are huge bubbles of gas underneath the surface. They can pop open and therby creating huge holes in the crost of a planet.

I think same happened there on mars.

Yeah I have to agree with you here Pe-nerd that is immediately what I thought when I saw the picture. Some subsurface feature on mars gave way and fell in upon its self whether it be a cavern, plate shifts, melting ice, or a huge impact from another meteor somewhere else on Mars caused this cave in.

There could very well be life on Mars sub surface and honestly we would have not a clue what it is until we went there and either confirmed or denied its existance. People used to think the ocean bottom was devoid of life because light did not reach that far down we know today that life is fairly abundant in spots.

I think there is life out there in the Galaxy maybe not entirely what even the best Sci Fi writers could even fathom but I would suspect its there. Probably some intelligent life too but depending on where they are in their evolutionary scale they may not be capable of communicating or be so advanced it would be like us trying to talk to an ant if they tried to communicate. All any advanced race of beings would have to do is look at plain fact we cannot get along with ourselves let alone something not of this world and realize it might not be the best time to contact the human race.
