Moblists are announced a week or two before each Stage, to keep suspense and anticipation as a factor. Expect hell I was so impressed by support's abilities as massed hunting teams last year I decided to give them something bigger to chew on... but I can safely say no Dasps in Support![]() Quote:

I have had some contact with people who sort of came to the conclusion that if the current unlimited amount of support players is not changed somehow that it is already a predrawn conclusion that teams like England will win due to the big amount of support they can gather.
Countries that are able to get a huge amount of support players definitely have a lot better chance then the countries who have problems getting together a decent support team at all. I know that the idea of support teams scoring is to be able to let as much as posible people participate in the event. The issue is that a lot of the smaller countries will get even more problems getting together a decent support team as the people think their chances are pretty much zero anyway. Mayby their should be only one 12 man (this is the max team size) support team for each country possible. Global screenshots can be used for verification. This would make the scoring chances of all teams a lot more fairer. You could compare this to a world championship of football were instead of only 11 people on the field we have the entire nations on the field. This gives the nations with more citizens a very big advantage. I think that if there will be no limitations for support that this could lead to the end of a very fine yearly event. This due that only very few teams will compete. I hope this post will lead to a healthy discussion about this subject. Cheers Siam |

I would be a LOT happier with a set of rules in case the Main Team of a country is "down" for technical reasons, as it happened quite a few times last year. This issue made the difference between, let's say 3rd place vs 2nd place
; I'd like to see something like:Proposal A: - if two or more Main Team members cannot log back in, or if the Main Team cannot be re-assembled in 5 minutes, the event is "on break", so no globals will be recorded in that time-frame. Proposal B: - every Main Team has the possibility to call a Time-Out for a maximum of 15 minutes, once per Stage - during this time, no globals are recorded - a stand-by judge can/might "travel" to where the problem occurs - the team calling a time-out must provide sufficient proof that technical problems have occurred - if no proof is provided, the team will be penalized for the first offense, while the second offense might bring disqualification. This is just a rough idea of some examples; I'm sure that if enough people think this should be implemented, a viable solution can be found. At least, something similar should be implemented in the semi and finals stages. It might also provide grounds to dismiss (or confirm ) accusations that IP based "manipulations" are occurring.I agree that this will put more burden on the judges' shoulders, but it's worth it IMO. |

Support Scoring will be limited in varying degrees towards the Final. This means no matter how big the teams, there will be a maximum amount of points they are allowed to score each match, with more being allowed towards the later stages as Support grows and teams are fewer in number. This helps to level the playing field, while keeping the spirit of the event. This, and other tweaks to last year's rules, will be set out as soon as I get back to England (hopefully by tomorrow) and have time to get the ball rolling in proper fashion. Quote:

Also, I'm sure many will be quite happy if we don't participate. I brought this up because my country's team is split 50%-50% as to participate or not this year, and that was one big reason why; I just wanted to know for sure if it'll be addressed or not, since the event costs a lot of money. Thanks again. |
