    Yeah!!

Thank you very much for the reply!! I know its alot to ask but, do you know of any timelines for the fix?

Can I add that it would also be nice to get rid of the flickering trees in the background as well!

    Again thank you!

Since this question was just re-asked on PCF, I thought I would bump this up to see if I could get some updated info on this.

So if your checking this section, can you supply us with some new details on this?!!

I do think that this issue may be fixed with the Ava update. The reason being, is that I think they may just start using direct X 10. By doing this, they will be able to use Crossfire and SLi for the newer cards. At least I hope this is the plan!!

So I will call this a bump.. with an extra question asked,, will higher direct X versions be implemented soon.. say even to 11??!!

Still no fix on this? Having to turn off a graphics card to play this game is becoming quite irritating.

AMD CrossfireX Dual Cards: Working Settings

I had the flickering trees when I first tried to use dual AMD graphics cards (CrossFireX) with Entropia Universe. I spent a lot of time playing with settings and have eliminated the flickering and found settings that work well for me balancing 3 goals of: Picture Quality, Motion Quality, and Graphics Cards Running Cool. Here is what I’ve done:

    Hardware Info:

    OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)

    processor: Intel core i7 @2.80GHz

    physical memory: 16.0GB

AMD Catalyst Control Center Version (Latest): 2014.0915.1813.30937

Primary Adapter: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
Noteworthy from hardware info: Maximum Bus Setting: PCI Express 2.0 x16
    Enable Graphics OverDrive: Yes
High Performance GPU clock settings: 840MHz(Default)
    High Performance memory clock settings:1050MHz(Default)
Linked Adapter: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
Noteworthy from hardware info: Maximum Bus Setting: PCI Express 2.0 x4
    Enable Graphics OverDrive: Yes
High Performance GPU clock settings: 900MHz(Overclocked)
High Performance memory clock settings: 1100MHz(Overclocked)

    Gaming:
    3D Application Settings:
    +Add… : C:\Program Files (x86)\Entropia Universe\bin64\Entropia.exe
    Anti-Aliasing
    Anti-Aliasing Mode: Use Application Settings
    Anti-Aliasing Samples: Use Application Settings
    Filter: Standard
    Anti-Aliasing Method: Multisampling
    Morphological Filtering: Off

    Texture Filtering
Ansiotropic Filtering Mode: Use Application Settings
Ansiotropic Filtering Level: Use Application Settings
    Texture Filtering Quality: Standard
    Surface Format Optimization: On

    Frame Rate Control
Wait for Vertical Refresh: Off, Unless Application Specifies
    OpenGL Triple Buffering: On

    Tessellation
    Tessellation Mode: AMD Optimized
    Maximum Tessellation Level: AMD Optimized

    AMD CrossFireX(™)
    Frame Pacing: On
AMD CrossFireX(™) Mode: Optimize 1x1 (This setting only available for application specific profile; you won't see it if you don't add Entropia.exe profile.)

    Graphics:
    Anti-aliasing: Off
    Wait for Vertical Synchronization: On
    General Graphics Quality: High->Custom

    Advanced:
    Render Textures Quality: 100%
    Avatar Quality: High
    Objects Quality: Medium
    Particle Effects Quality: Medium
    Physics Quality: Medium
    Post Processing Amount: Medium
    Shading Quality: High
    Shadows Quality: Very High
    Texture Quality: High
    Water Quality: High
    Volumetric Effects Quality: High
    Draw Distance: High
    Terrain Quality: about 50% (default)
Enable Motion Blur: Off (I don’t think it works at Medium Post Processing Setting)

My only grief is that anti-aliasing is turned off. When I turn it on my framerate drops so much it’s unusable. I am going to continue to experiment with the anti-aliasing settings in the AMD Catalyst Control Center to see if I can get it working better.

    Good Luck with your setup!

    Fry
